I just watched part of a rerun of The Fugitive with David Jansen, from the 1960s.

One of the characters in this episode was played by Ed Asner. He was playing a former football athlete who's career was cut short, and now was working for a political candidate, who he blamed for his injury, and planned on murdering.

When Richard Kimble stumbled into this characters room, there were plenty of photographs of Ed Asner's character on the wall. One of the photos was an 8x10 of this character posed in a three-point -stance playing football.

Ten or fifteen years later in the 1970s, that same picture of Ed Asner would find it's way onto the wall of Lou Grant, hanging in his office at the television station WJM where his character played the station's executive producer on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Has anyone encountered any ties of this type in TV or Film?
