At least we know for sure that the Bootleg "A-OK" was named after it :)

Sigh... It is no less a Jethro Tull album than any other Tull album except maybe This Was

Wilson has already done 3 Gentle Giant remixes this year with the help of @Plan9 including 'The Missing Piece' which I heard he wasn't as familiar with. I'm betting it's him that does 'A'.

Based on his prior comments I'd be pleasantly shocked. But still shocked.

Yeah. He can do the remaining Yes remixes as well. If they exist.

I was surprised with how much I enjoy A -- the band interplay is tight and focused, and Craney on drums is a delight to the ears.

not to mention Jobson's obvious and well-heralded excellence

I've always like "A", and I will be thrilled if an anniversary book set comes to pass. I think this album is tailor-made for surround. That alone makes it worth the price of admission. The story behind this album and this time period would make for interesting reading. Include the full concert from which excerpts were used for the Slipstream video and buying this is a no-brainer.

Let's see, that would be one CD for the stereo remix and bonus tracks, a second and third CD with concert material, and a DVD (maybe 2 DVDs) with high resolution original stereo mix, stereo re-mix, 5.1 mix, bonus tracks and the live "A" tour concert video. So this would probably be a 4 or 5 disk set--depending on what's in the vaults.

I don’t remember Steven ever commenting specifically about the A album. My guess is he likes it, as he’s into that 80s sound. Incidentally his ex-drummer Marco Minnemann is on record saying A is one of his favorite albums of all time.

Wow, I didn’t know that about Marco. Martin Barre has always spoken highly of it.

I thought it was “Under Wraps” that Martin has spoken highly of.

That too. But it's true that he's quite fond of the "A" album and tour. I'm happy to see so many favourable responses here too! Great album.

You know, I take back my comment. Consider Bob Weir's Ace. He has all the Dead on it, yet it's not a Dead album. I concede.

I’m a die-hard Tull fan, and ‘A’ is in my top five. The accompanying tour was phenomenal.

Though Eddie Jobson was always billed as “special guest”, I’ve never ascertained why Mark Craney didn’t stay. Does anyone know why he left? He was a great addition to the band.

“A” wouldn’t be in my top 10 Tull albums, but I think tracks like this one have the potential to sound great in 5.1.
I’d buy a book edition in a heartbeat!

GREAT song!! Frenetic, incessant pacing, and hated by most Tull fans! Not me, though.

This kind of track makes me hesitate to buy an A box set...
