I can't believe they'd waste space on this release for songs like "Doom and Gloom", "Don't Stop", and "Rain Fall Down"...unless you're an obsessive Stones completist with money to burn, I don't know why anyone would buy this - and I say this as someone who loves The Stones!!!

I just made a playlist of these songs and I enjoy how it flows! I even called it “England’s Oldest Hit Makers” like someone here suggested! I used album versions, of course.

Yeah, at least they didn’t include Out Of Control, never understood the band’s fascination with that & why they play it so much.

It's a great groove, moves along nicely, the interaction between Mick and the band is great to watch, what's not to like?

Yeah, IMHO One Hit (to the Body) is one of their best singles post golden eras 1-2. Yet it never shows up on any of their comps. Who knows...

Woody got a songwriting credit on it. I wonder if that has something to so with it.

It will interesting to see how well this compilation will sell now that the early tour dates are cancelled but may be rescheduled later. The release will be out 3 months now before the tour tentatively starts.

We'll see, technically all the dates until July are cancelled but may be made up later. However, they want people to hold on to the tickets in case they make up the dates later. In any event, it may hurt the sales of Honk if they are not touring to help the sales when it is released.

Just ordered the Honk deluxe 4LP boxset. The only other Stones compilation I own is Hot Rocks. IMO, Honk is a great compilation for those days when you only wanna hear the hits.

When I saw them in 97 that song kicked ass! They extended the wah wah solo at the end and it blew the album version away.

I hope this helps you to better understand why they play it so much.

I’m on the other side of the fence . I can’t stand the cover art . With all the connections the band must have by now you’d think they’d of come up with something a bit more exciting.
A very poor effort.....and The Stones are my all time favourite band !

I’ll stick to listening to my old copy of Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass).

I definitely don't consider myself a Stones obsessive. I don't even own all of the albums. But that's part of the attraction of this set. Instead of regurgitating the same '60's and '70's stalwarts for the umpteenth time, they're actually including the best of their later years material. It's why I'm planning on getting the 4-LP Deluxe version. I actually like all of the songs you mentioned. "Don't Stop" is pretty good, and "Doom & Gloom" and "Rain Fall Down" are aces. I'm actually genuinely excited about this comp in a way that I haven't been for any Stones comp in years.

I can’t believe fans are roaring over a simple compilation album. They have released them in a steady stream since 1966, so I can’t see why people will get upset every time. It’s marketing. Nothing more, nothing less. Avoid if not interested. At least appreciate there are new people out there who gets exposed to the music.
