It was his moment. He followed it with the more serious Into The Fire, before a screeching reversal with Waking Up The Neighbours. The latter having some decent, fun tracks but being far too long.

Yeah, Into The Fire is the last Bryan Adams classic for me. But for a short while there, he really was exciting.

    I just love the line
Time to take this ship into the shore and throw away the oar forever ....
There is so much wrong wth this line - it satirises itself
I have quoted it at the most inappropriate times all my life.

I think Kev should have got the Nobel prize for literature instead of Mr Zimmerman! :)

I don't have any of these albums, but I really like the songs Born In The USA by Springsteen and Purple Rain/When Doves Cry. I have the single Valotte on shaped picture disc. I still like it.
Contrary to everyone else I think this is a shockingly poor bunch of albums. I was probably immersed in Goth/alternative/synth music at the time.

Diana Ross' ''Swept Away' was at #37 this week and is another favorite of mine. The last of her 'big' albums in the US and contained her last top 10 hit here 'Missing You', which is one of my favorite songs of hers.

Wow I have 18 of those! Amazing Lionel Richie was still on the charts 2 years after he released Can't Slow Down.

It's around this time that albums became more like EPs (singles/videos) + bonus tracks (intended filler). Many blame it on MTV.

Great chart....who doesn't love the 80s....I have 8 of the Top 10 and 7 of the next 15, mostly vinyl. Diamond Life and Purple Rain probably the ones I still play most today.
