Those delivery drivers must get paid by the mile.

Media Mail is 4th Class. It gets put into a corner whenever things go haywire at the post office, be it Christmas or a pandemic. You'll get your stuff when you get it becomes the status for 4th Class Mail.

I ordered some albums from a store in Chicago. It's a 5 hour drive from me and normally I get their stuff fast. This time it took 10 days. USPS didn't even try to hide that for 4 days, my order sat in a Chicago postal facility. I love the tracking information.

Two weeks ago I purchased the first set of Chess’ Chuck Berry from a buyer in New York. That would take about three to four days to get here in NJ. It’s still “In Transit to Next Facility.”

I live in CT and ordered an album from a seller in New York - about a 90 minute drive - and the package was shipped via Media Mail a week ago. It's been on its way to the "next facility" for a number of days now, and there's no longer an estimated delivery date when I punch in the tracking number.

Another album I ordered that got shipped via MM a week ago isn't scheduled to arrive until next Monday, the 27th.

Thanks for all the Media Mail info, guys. (Sorry you're having to wait so long.) Because of the info you provided here, I was informed enough to ask for (and get) First class shipping on a CD I ordered from Discogs yesterday. It is scheduled to arrive Saturday!

Wow, sorry to hear all of the in country Media mail's screwing up for you guys. I sold a CD to a fellow in San Diego and it only took 7 days from the Canada to there.

It's been terribly slow, most things incoming to me in Jersey are getting hung up between Jersey City's hub and my local post office.

Item #1 from Australia shipped on 3/18 that didn't come with tracking and appears lost. Only a $12 CD.

Item #2 from Kentucky on 3/26. Arrived in Jersey City on 3/28 and no update since. Luckily it was just a free CD offered by Blue Rose Music (check them out).

Item #3 from Rarewaves (UK) without shipping. No tracking provided/no update. $20 LP.

So they aren't huge losses if I don't receive them, but disappointing.

Outside of those 3 orders I had other shipments around the third week of March delayed. Since then I've had some delayed shipments. Most are taking 2+ weeks right now. Every now and then one makes it in a week, seemingly randomly. Seems like a lot of stuff going through Jersey City near the end of March just vanished, hopefully for the time being. I've had other people in my area with the same problem.

lol - I've had this happen to me. It eventually finds it's way.

As far media mail goes, I've been using it for six months now for a hundred plus packages and never had a package take longer than one week. Except for the one time it got lost as the post shown above illustrates. But it did finally find it's destination.

That one isn't the worst I have in my queue right now. Another one was sent ten days earlier and has been idling in Jersey City since April 4th.

Ever since the Covid mess, USPS media mail has been a disaster!

From my experience UPS as well. Packages aren't showing up on scans. and I had one large order that claims it delivered 3 days ago which wasn't. And now I have no recourse with the seller because it says 'delivered'.

Did you check the tracking number to see where it was delivered to? I purchased something from eBay two weeks ago. Last week it showed as delivered on Tuesday but my mailbox was empty. Fine, sometimes I get a delivery notification but the item shows up the next day. By Friday I received nothing so I looked at the tracking history, the seller sent it to an address in Virginia, I’m in New York.

I just checked an order from Maine that was sent out on the 21st. On the 23d it arrived in Greensboro, NC. Arrives in Pittsburg the 24th at 8:15am. At 11:05am on the 24th it’s shown as departing Greensboro, NC. April 25th at 8:37pm it’s at Kansas City, KS. April 26th it’s on it’s way to the next facility. I live in upstate New York.

Doesn't your package know there is a stay at home order going on right now and that unnecessary travel is discouraged? Stupid parcel.

I've had things like this happen to me even in good times. Mine usually have vacationed in Florida. What is amazing to see is the circuitous route yours is taking. That is bizarre.

Conducting an experiment. I have two packages coming from the same place - one sent USPS Priority and another sent FedEx Ground. I'll let you know which one takes longer to arrive.

Media Mail and First Class are experiencing significant delays right now, IME.

Man my package is seeing more of the county than I probably ever will. It left Kansas City for an overnighter in Des Moines and is now visiting St. Paul.

I'm in Canada and have been waiting for a package shipped from the U.S. to me. According to their tracking it's been sitting in Jamaica N.Y. for 2 weeks

I'm on my 11th day waiting for a Media Mail package from a city four hours away. No updates for the last 6-7 days either, so it's probably sitting in a sorting warehouse somewhere, not moving.

Packages are taking a LONG time to arrive. They're also taking strange, out of the way routes.

I've been getting texts every day on a First Class package, but all they say is "In Transit, Arriving Late."

    It's generally good.

Media mail packages often don't show up in the sytem for several days.
