The new issue of Mojo, out Tuesday in the UK (Monkees on the cover), will have a nice VdGG article. The piece is an oral history of Pawn Hearts. Contributions from all the band, John Anthony, Paul Conroy, Glen Colson, Paul Whitehead

From the Mojo website: VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR - How a “late-’60s soul band, warped by the spirit of Stockhausen” made the acid-gothic-horror of Pawn Hearts, and how unlikely stardom in Italy broke them

On the article foot-note it says The Charisma Years box set is being re-pressed.

Like I keep saying record companies dong have a clue if you have the right product it will sell, most of the time the bean counters don't know what the right product is because they don't know music ?

I was considering taking the plunge on an Oppo BDP-95 while I still can find one. Could someone please confirm that this player will be able to hand the Ray Shulman authored Blu-rays? Any other general feedback about this player would be appreciated.

95 is a 93 with better audio. Don't see why you would have a problem but maybe a 95 owner will stumble across this thread.

The box set sold out quickly but is being reissued in April.

Again? This is the second reissue IIRC. That is good news to all VDGG fans.

I think you’re thinking of the announcement of the upcoming repress. Way back in January…

Glad that this is selling so well. Now please give us a box of Peter's "between generations" solo albums.

So glad it's getting reissued, so that those who missed out on the first run won't have to pay silly scalper prices

I really enjoyed revisiting these albums via this box set when it was originally issued.

There really is an awful lot of stuff in that box for £120 when compared to what some bands offer up for that kind of money

There really has been some marvellous sets released in the past few years, Jethro Tull and Marillion come to mind. The Focus set was also great value

Apologies for going off topic a bit there, it's just nice to see these things selling out and then getting re issued

I notice those Black Sabbath deluxe sets didn't become super scarce, anyone would think they were over priced and under done :hide:

    That's $150.00 plus shipping.
For us in the States that's roughly 200.00 for 4 albums and 2 singles.
    That's rough.

I have some questions about compatibilty and formats on charisma years box and 2CD+DVD relases as I am pretty inexperienced in topic of 5.1 and hd formats.

On blue ray discs is the audio material lossless and will be playable on any BR drive? (I assume so but I am not experienced with blu rays audio.)

On the bonus DVD discs it says "DVD Audio". Does it mean that it requires special DVD-A compatibile player? Or is there also regular DVD material in compressed format (Dolby or DTS)?
