Is there any CD version of "Tupelo Honey" with channels reversed?

That series of shows at the Dominion Theatre was my first Van Morrison show and I have to say the best. I remember a guy stood just behind us saying, "He might be a miserable bastard but boy is he belting out the classics tonight" Truer words have never been spoken.

I don’t think so. Why do you ask?

Yes! My Polydor 839 161-2, aluminum to center, CD has channels reversed. I ripped it and reversed them. Otherwise it’s a great mastering.

I was wondering about that, thank you! Every track is reversed though, or just some? Cheers.

Well what do you know, this was mentioned in this post in my very own Van Morrison cd thread and I forgot:

In my defense that’s a very old thread

My very first copy of Tupelo Honey on CD had the channels reversed. I think it was from Germany.

I don't have it anymore. I gave it to my sister when the Warner Bros CD was released.

Tupelo Honey is the album I've used from way back when it was first released on vinyl to check things out after I've moved or changed anything in my audio system or added anything new.

If the opening guitar on Wild Night doesn't come out of the left speaker that (usually means) I've done something wrong with the cables somewhere.

That first CD jumped right out at me as being reversed. :agree:

Uncle Van is a grouchy curmudgeon, but damn if his art isn't helpful in these anxious and scary times. We all can use a little mystical introspection and spirituality right about now....

Can a CD have just one track reversed, or due to the mastering process, when one track is reversed it means that the entire album is?

PS: I'm digging "Veedon Fleece" very much lately. Such an amazing, reflective album. Probably one of my favorites of his.
