I'm curious about reissues that are more expensive than the original release. It'd make for an interesting thread.

Well.... some of them might be from MFSL, then there are the Classic Records Led Zeppelin boxes. Also various reissues from Universal circa 2003/4 that are easily as expensive as originals - "Gran Tourismo", "Superunknown", "Different Class" - that's Cardigans, Soundgarden & Pulp. I guess this series also had a Nirvana album.

Oh... and 90% of those modern super deluxe reissues are easily more expensive than originals!

Mofi Beck Sea Change is more expensive than the original. Which is a bummer because evwryone should own a copy.

Two great reggae albums reissued recently...reggae seems to be way behind on the reissue front. Originals of these rather pricey...if you ever see them!

Junior Byles!!! This is one of the best reggae album to me!!! Does the reissue sound good? Been looking for a original of that one.

I'm no audiophile but think it sounds great and well worth the money - wasn't that expensive. I've never seen an original in the wild, a couple online but will set you back at least £80/$130.

The first three Blind Melon albums (Nico released on vinyl for the first time last year).

    Alice In Chains - Dirt

    Mad Season - Above

Something for Kate - Discography (Desert Lights finally getting a vinyl release)

Loads of stuff from the nineties that was previously only on South Korean, Brazilian, or very (very) limited EU vinyl has been getting released. I love the ‘Vinyl Revival’ I could list forever here.

.... just wish there were more quality masterings. Analog Productions has been doing some 90’s stuff, ORG did great with Nirvana, wish Mofi would also dip their toes in the water and get some quality 90’s reissues going too, I’m SURE they’d sell well!

Their Simple Things reissue is great, so hopefully this reissue will be too.

This set sells for big money (earlier RSD 1,000 press) and is finally being reissued (5,000 this time). I picked up the RSD Bloody Kisses reissue and was really blown away by sound and quality of that pressing. Run Out Groove does a fantastic job on their reissues. If you enjoy this bands music, I think it would be a no brainer.

Apparently this thread is about vinyl, but in the CD world, several albums by Oregon that have been out of print and fetching high prices for quite a few years now have been reissued by Wounded Bird:

The thread is about vinyl, but I don’t think a CD or two is going to hurt anything. :)

Currently re-pressed via Boomkat, those 500 copies will probably be gone again pretty quickly.

Clifford Jordan Quartet - Glass Bead Games

Being a double LP repress on Pure Pleasure it's not exactly cheap, but certainly beats three figures for an original.

    Joe McPhee - Nation Time

On Superior Viaduct, the original press goes for hundreds and even the Bo'Weavil from a few years ago is now quite pricey.

So nice to see this get a reissue...OG IS viciously expensive!

Found on Band Camp and Discogs. Looks like avail through your local indie record store as well. Standard black variant and a more limited color variant too.
