  2. He is as good as any musician on that stage. Why not? I made some silly jabs about the idea of them carrying on, on another thread but this makes sense. More power to them, and it will be interesting musically/vocally and who knows.. record some new, really good stuff?

For those who may not know, Gill is extremely talented and versatile. This should be a great add.

Whatever you think of Eagles they always had people who could more than competently get the job done. I might have to check out ole Vinnie.

“While I was still in shock during some interviews after Glenn passed away, I did say that I thought that was the end of the band,” said Henley.

But after speaking with his accountant...

Irving Azoff, the Eagles’ longtime manager, said in a separate interview “It was the natural thing to do.” ($$$)

He can handle any solo they give him. What a contrast between him and Walsh onstage.

Very interesting; it may be a very good fit musically.

Of course, with The Eagles, I hope the chemistry and personalities also fall into place.
That seems to be the crucial factor here.

Great vocalist and good guitarist. Makes sense. Is Steuart Smith still playing with them as well?

Hopefully Vince Gill will be able to play some of his songs...
And they'll play less of Joe Walsh's :hide:

Out of curiosity has Gill ever performed or been connected with the band at all in the past?

  15. I would pay money to see he and Joe trade licks on Hotel California. Knowing that we are talking about the Eagles, I am thinking it will be a LOT of money. :)

I suppose this is as cynical as twenty or so years of Grateful Dead reunion shows with Garcia substitutes.

Paging John Mayer...start will get the call when Vince soon realizes no amount of money is worth putting up with Henley night after night!
  18. Vince is the equivalent of David Crosby in his musical world, although not personality wise.

I've seen Vince play live - he's very good. Odd that people aren't aware of this.

Not sure how I feel about this. Will Bernie Leadon be joining them again?

Very, very good guitar player. He's played on one or two of the Eric Clapton Crossroads Festivals.

Would be cool to see Gill and Walsh do Hotel California.

Interesting. Vince is such a great singer and guitar player. I loved him in Pure Prairie League.
  25. Whoa. Okay, I'm down. This sounds like a good time!
