Okay, since jumping on the Forum a couple weeks back, the bug has hit me hard!!

So, today I drove out to take a look at a pair of speakers that I wanted, but decided before I arrived that I would likely have to look high-and-low for years until I find exactly what I'm looking for - didn't want to get my hopes up.

Then, Lo-and-behold, I find this pair of 1984 Heresy in absolutely PERFECT condition!!! All the corners are perfectly square, not a blemish anywhere!! Everything is in perfect condition, original owner with boxes and original bill of sale!!!

$350!!!!! So, tell me - I know, if they are what I want, they are worth every dime! But, did I get a great deal??!

I think you did very well... I have never owned a pair of Klipsch speakers, but I know the ones you bought are highly recommended by many people.
    Congratulations on a good score.

Yes, Nice grab!! Many happy years will you have with these! Some folks think they are a bit bright on top in the Kipsch house sound, they are forgiving of amps, tubes to soften them on low power or open them up with lots of SS grunt, enjoy!

Klipsch guy here (quartet) and yes they can be a bit bright. Keep working with them it takes a bit to get placement just right. I have mine on 10" stands and they sound sweet! :agree: Congrats on a good buy. :righton: I see your in Denver..... I'm north of you in Loveland (town) if you want to hear them.

I have owned several pairs of the Heresy ones and twos I usually get a pair of
Bob Crites crossover recap kits and a pair of his titanium tweeters both these
upgrades are usually needed and very beneficial enjoy them they are great speakers
they are really good with high quality tube amplification. $350 us. is average price for
heresys in good condition yours in mint condition should have abit more value.

    yes
the caps in those are also of a grade seldom seen today
last pair I recapped were 1984 models exactly and did not need a thing only to satisfy some phobia of a friend
    I kept those caps!
    very very high quality product
    don't change a thing
if you must do something just clean and treat all connections and enjoy
closest thing to a pure capacitance box I can think of!
    superb

I have a pair about the same age as yours. I bought Crites crossovers for them. To be honest, the difference wasn't that noticeable.

    So...you are new here!
Best not to start a thread with that mentality? Or at least respond with less acidity?
