Long story short, my vinyl rig is shared with our family room, and space dictates that if I were to upgrade from my Hagerman bugle 2 (which sits behind my TT rack out of sight), my 1200gr would basically have to sit on top of the phono stage. I don’t foresee there being any electrical or sonic issues but figured it prudent to at least hear some other thoughts. I’m looking at the elac ppa2 and at least the listed specs show that my Technics should be able to sit on top of it without the feet over the edge of the phono chassis

Just make an mdf/wooden platform for your TT with 2 sideboards, so that this platform with sideboards 'covers' your phono preamp, sliding over it. And your TT sits on the platform instead of your preamp.
Or if it is near a wall, maybe a wall shelf just above your phono preamp, so that the TT appears to 'float' over your preamp?!

both of your ideas are fantastic and way better than mine! Below is a pic, but a wall mount or platform with sideboards for the TT to rest on over the phono would work.

I used to have a turntable on a receiver. I got my acoustical isolation devices at a sporting goods store.

no thank you the wife and kids and I are very happy in our otherwise large, comfy, safe with great schools house and neighborhood. The family room though I’m just trying to be respectful to my wife as it does double up as an entertaining space for friends and guests.

The chassis of the phono stage is not rigid enough. It will vibrate with the sound waves and feed that back to the turntable.
