If you haven't watched this DVD, find it to rent or buy. It's subject is cinematography and it has great clips and commentary ranging from the past up to the time it was made.
Be warned, though: It will likely send you into a frenzy purchasing additional DVDs and videos of some of the beautifully shot films from which clips are used in the documentary. Regards,
I'm getting a free one sent to me, one of the benefits of supporting the American Film Institute. I live nearby their recently renovated 1938 art moderne Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, MD. This will be their main East Coast showcase for screenings, events. &c. Here's a Washington Post article on the renovation and opening.
