So by posting that you like the song "Groovy Kind of Love" in a thread whose subject is the death of Wayne Fontana, you leave the impression you believe he was a part of that record.

But hey, don't let anyone interfere with your right to look silly and uninformed! Carry on.

A great recorded legacy, with the Mindbenders and solo. Thanks for the pleasure of years of listening to your music. RIP.

Great follow-up to the Game of Love that I heard on the radio once before it disappeared. Just not right! Pure British Invasion. Enjoy it now. Thanks, Wayne/Glyn.

I bought Game of Love AND the follow-up. Still have them! It deserved to do better.

I'm afraid I only remember the big hit but I've heard enough here to know there was much more.

And I always feel a twinge when I hear of these guys of my generation and that fantastic British Invasion passing on.

    RIP

I feel the same way. I have found with British Invasion acts that usually there is a lot more good stuff once you get past the hits.

Yeah, I know, and I believe he also recorded a version of "Groovy Kind of Love" for one or more of those cheapo bogus Oldies CDs that featured new rerecordings of hits. I understand you have to make a living, but that had to be galling.

Oh, that's sad news. RIP, Wayne.

He certainly had a unique voice. Here's a B-side with the Mindbenders:

Wow - I would be so afraid to do this. How much noise does this process remove? Ever have any trouble getting the material off? Has it ever left marks?

I’ve got a VPI vacuum cleaner and it’s great but nothing works as well as wood-gluing, at least that I’ve tried.

I’ve actually been astonished at times at how effective it is. And the more times you do it, the better the record sounds.

I only use Titebond II glue, and I had to practice a few times on cheap records to get the process right, but once you do, it’s very effective.

Your post makes me choose to ask you why you post death notices about famous people you probably had not heard of, prior to their death.

At least one poster informed you that this song did not involve Wayne Fontana.

How do you know if someone is about to die? Is there a site that publicizes this? Please respond if that’s cool with you.

Or, is that you are remarkably quick to find news reports after the fact.

    I am simply curious. :)

"Pamela Pamela" is my favourite, but I also really love "Come On Home", and most of all this rocker, which was his first single.
