I have a knack for choosing weird movies.
Some of the one that immediately come to mind are:

    Being John Malkovich
    Wild at Heart
    Eraserhead
    Big Fish
    A Clockwork Orange
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

    What are your favorites?

  2. Not a favourite perhaps (not yet, anyway), but I just watched Mandy for the second time and that's nothing if not weird.

I was a bit of an outcast in high school and I listened to a lot of "nerd rock."
I have a strange sense of empathy for people who are misshaped:

Uma Thurman in Even Cowgirls Get the Blues
    Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands
    Steve Martin in Roxanne

Ghostworld and Matthew Tate like this.

May not be exactly what you're looking for... but I said this very thing to the wife two nights ago - "I feel like a WEIRD movie". (We also like silly)

We settled on Hot Shots: Part Deux - I know, a parody, but hilarious - and weird - (Miguel Ferrer turns to camera in middle of action scene: "War - It's Fannntastic!")

    It hit the spot!

The Bad Batch and Mandy are my most weird picks, lately.

I know that Get Out is technically a horror movie but I found that one really weird as well.

"Hereditary" is pretty weird as a horror movie. There's specific tics in some of the characters that seemed way too specific and creepy like the daughter clucking her tongue. Kinda' cute at first but then...YIKES! They found a way to make that creepy as hell. Naked old people always makes things weird.

"Miami Blues" is a surprisingly oddball and kinda' weird movie about a super handsome opportunistic sociopath played brilliantly and disturbingly by Alec Baldwin trying to start a family with a prostitute and be seen as respectable by impersonating a cop at drug deals and robberies. How he gets the badge to flash at the culprits is just weird.

Saw it for the first time a week ago on one of the low def rerun channels, maybe Comet TV or something. It was so good I'm going to buy the DVD or Blu-ray.

"Freeway" with Reese Witherspoon is pretty weird as well.

I'm a huge fan of Toni Collette and I tried to keep an open mind about Hereditary, but the last 10 minutes were so bizarre. The ending just ruined that film for me. I can't imagine there being a sequel. Who would go to it?

"Holy Motors" by Leos Carax is fantastic and strange. A superb film if you're in the mood.

Guy Maddin is the go-to Canadian for the 'unusual'; his "The Forbidden Room" and "The Saddest Music in the World" are prime examples.

"The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes" by the Quay Brothers is quite a ride.

Not sure if "bizzare" flips your lid but if it does, go see "MidSommar", from the same director of "Hereditary".

And yeah, I'ld consider "Midsommar" as a VERY weird and disturbing movie.

My brother worked on "Freeway". He even appeared very briefly in a non-speaking role as a cop.

  22. The director, Ari Aster, directed a few "weird" short films before Hereditary and Midsommer.
One of them is just shocking. Very shocking.

I watched Donnie Darko 10 years ago because a friend recommended it.
Still not quite sure what was happening. I think I need to see it again.
