I knew a lot of people who liked The Elephant Man. It was actually based on a real person. Some critics call it weird, but I think it's kind of sad. It's no fun being an outcast, speaking from experience.

This movie was weird, disgusting, and controversial. It basically went too far. Even further than Rosemary's Baby.
I won't post spoilers. The major issue had to do with the finale. You can Google it if you haven't seen it.
A lot of people were wondering why this movie was even released. It was quite brutal.

Being John Malcovich is a favorite.

All of Jim Jarmusch's work in general is marvelously weird to me. Really, really love his stuff.

Jacob's Ladder really freaked me out- the movie and my frame of mind when I saw it.

Donnie Darko? Forget it. Great film but that jet engine scene... no way. That makes my head spin. Don't think I could do that one again.

Favorite oldies weird movie: King of Hearts with Alan Bates. Crazy!

Quest For Fire. Anyone remember that one? One of my favorites and have it on DVD.

Yeah, even the DVD required I adjust the aspect ratio settings in my Sony BD player so the actor's heads wouldn't look horizontally stretched.

Can never forget the farewell kissing scene between Reese's character and her African American gangsta' boyfriend. It's like a three course meal.

Malkovich would be a top 5 for me. Borderline genius IMHO. Love a clockwork orange as well.
One film I should have liked but just couldn't get into was Synecdoche New York. Charlie Kaufmann's directorial debut.
His next film Anomalisa was better.
