Just heard it 10 minutes ago and have already played it twice. I like this band. I'm disappointed I can't make it to the Boston show Monday.
The Chaise Longue 7” vinyl is being reissued. Wet Leg Official Store - Wet Leg - Chaise Longue Whether there’s any difference to the original sold out limited edition is unclear.
Just saw them live in Milwaukee. It was a fun show. They’re pretty tight as a band, and yet have a looseness about them too. A lot of off mic laughing between the two ladies while they were playing showed they were having a lot fun too. Based on what they played, I didn’t recognize any covers, I think the album will be solid.
I was wondering what happened to the dog from the front cover of Beck’s Odelay album. After seeing the Wet Leg ‘Oh No’ video the long deceased pooch lives on as a coat.
Sold out crowd at the Boston show, ages ranging from early 20s to at least two people I know to be near 70.
I have honestly never seen so many women in their 60s at a club gig by a band in their 20s. I mean, I always see one because I'm married to her, but we were veritable spring chickens compared to some. There was one woman who looked like Archie and Jughead's teacher Miss Grundy who spent the whole night pogoing next to us with a beer in her hand. By the way, they were on fire all night. The album is going to be amazing. Plus they did the admirably punk move that the second "Chaise Longue" was over, they dropped their instruments, walked off stage and the house lights came on full. 45 minutes, no encore. Perfect.
Saw them in Chicago last weekend. In that time frame of 45-60 minutes they managed to squeeze in every song off their new album, a cover and some extras totaling 16 songs in the setlist. Quite the unbelievable performance if you ask me, not a minute wasted.
If you purchased the album via the Wet Leg website you are being given presale access to tickets for the November UK tour. Presale starts March 9th at 9:00 am. General sale Friday 11th 9:00 am.
I hate reading these reviews lol They were supposed to start their tour on the 7th in Toronto but had to cancel because of covid. Of course restrictions lifted after they cancelled. They played Boston instead. I'm hoping they make it over here when they hit Vancouver in August for a date. Plenty of time between then and their next date (at the moment) in Phoenix so I'm hoping it means there's more dates in between those two that just haven't been confirmed.
My son and I managed to tickets for Glasgow and Leeds on the pre-sale this morning. First up though, it’s Edinburgh next month.
"Chaise Longue" is great, "Angelica" is quite good, the intervening tracks were pretty dismal. They remind me a bit of Veronica Falls, in the sense that their debut single was an absolute banger and most stuff afterwards felt a bit anti-climactic. I would probably go and see them live, out of curiosity, if it was affordable. The lyrics are very "of the moment", what with references to the 'gram and wokeness; I wonder if they'll sound very quaint in a few years. Perhaps music shouldn't aspire to be "timeless", anyway.
Their songs are total ear-worms. They have such a great vibe! I pre-ordered the clear vinyl with the bonus 7". The shipping cost to the US is nuts, but gotta have those bonus tracks!
