The issue with that guitar is that with its hole on the body, it made the guitar to sound impossibly in tune. Willie’s a good guitarist, but with a worn out instrument like “Trigger”, he should have either repaired it adequately or donned another instrument. It makes him sound more sloppy than he is.

Joni and her Martin D-28, stolen in the mid-'70s and never returned. This pic is from 1968:

Not being an expert however didn't Gibson have a Johnny Smith model jazz guitar? Not too many guitars named after individuals.

Jonny Greenwood and his Fender Starcaster. I don't know of anyone else who's used one extensively:

And with his Tele Plus, before he put a Honda sticker behind the bridge:

Gibson also did jazz boxes for Tal Farlow, Herb Ellis, Barney Kessel, and Trini Lopez. Maybe others too.

  13. Jimmy Mac

Jimmy Mac Zooropa... better by design

And there’s our winner right there...cherry Sunburst Les Pau sums up Rock N Roll in one image, for me personally at least.

He's more famous for his red strat than anything else IMO.

There's so many...... But here's mine. Syd Barrett with his Mirrored Fender Esquire. Many think it was a Telecaster, but it wasn't. It only had one pickup in the bridge position.

Pat Metheny and his MIDI guitar connected to either a Roland guitar synth or a Synclavier.
Adrian Belew and his Roland G-707 guitar with the GR-700 synth.
I mostly think of MIDI synth guitars when I hear artists with guitars or I think of real guitars.
Maybe Slash and the Les Paul, or Jimi Hendrix and the Strat for non-synth guitars.
