If you're an Elton John fan and you have sacd capability and DON'T have those sacds - don't delay - they're a wonder to hear! Especially in 5.1. Ditto Miles Davis In a Silent Way 5.1. Fantastic!

  3. You've never heard Hurdy Gurdy Man like it's meant to be heard unless you have that Storyteller SACD. It sounds incredible on a good system.

I personally these are fantastic for sonics... I'll pick a couple well knowns that haven't been listed yet and some underrated gems:

AP SACD Counting Crows - August and Everything After (maybe not in the best in complete absolute terms, but the jump from the lifeless original and even the MFSL CD makes hearing this album for the first time it seems)
AP SACD Norah Jones - Come Away With Me
Regular CD Chris Botti - When I fall In Love
AP SACD Nat King Cole - Love Is The Thing
    Regular CD Il Postino Soundtrack
MFSL SACD Billy Joel - Innocent Man
Regular CD Chris Isaak - Baja Sessions

I wanted those Moody SACD's to be good but the surround on a lot of them just doesn't sound right to me.

The Moody Blues sacd's are great in my opinion
From Days of Future Passed up to Seventh Sojourn are in 5.1
but be aware that In Search Of The Lost Chord is only available in 5.1 on the more recent deluxe release. Initially the tapes were missing. They redid it when they found them.

    really good 5.1 sacd's
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
    -Wish You Were Here
Jeff Wayne War Of The Worlds
    Dire Straits Brothers In Arms
    Eagles hotel California
    Fleetwood Mac Rumours

If you like Depeche Mode, and money isn't an anchor, it is worth searching out the sacd editions of their deluxe sets for the 5.1 mixes.

The Genesis box sets are great, but some don't like the mastering, but the 5.1 is fantastic. Make sure you get the sacd box sets though
