I would have to go with the missing Neil Young albums as well. How can a major artist like this have a decent portion of his catalog go unreleased.

I will second the motion on "AN EVENING WITH WILD MAN FISCHER" I found the album last Spring at a garage sale for 25 cents. Fairly good shape--a little moldy though.

Abums/records that are not available on cd that should be:(at least not available in the U.S.)

    1)Neil Young-the missing six-no surprise here

    2)The Pretenders-The Extended Play tracks-Porcelin,Cuban Slide

3)The Jetzons-(great local Phoenix area band from early 80's just had to slip that one in)

4)The Doors-Weird Scenes From The Goldmine (why can't we have this 2 record comp instead of all the boring greatist hits packages out there!)

5)Fuzzbox- We've Got A Fuzzbox and We're Gonna Use It (Great all girl new wave band from 86'-Hit song from this album What's The Point?)

    6)Bram Tchaikovsky-Strange Man,Changed Man

7)Nick Lowe-Pure Pop For Now People (available as an import only)

8)Nick Lowe-Labour of Lust (available as an import only)

There is a compilation of stuff from this era on the Country Music Foundation label, distributed by Koch international.

Porcelain and Cuban Slide both appear on Don't Get Me Wrong, a budget import Pretenders compilation. It may be OOP. Anyway, Rhino is scheduled to release a Pretenders box set later this year. it will have to include these tracks.

I strongly agree with Warren Zevon's THE ENVOY.

    I'd also like to see:

    THE BRAINS - The Brains

PEARL HARBOR - Don't Follow Me, I'm Lost Too

HACKAMORE BRICK - One Kiss Leads to Another

    V/A - Club Foot

THE FIRESIGN THEATER - Everything You Know is Wrong

THE CREDIBILITY GAP - Great Gift Idea

I'm a big fan of the film composer Kenyon Hopkins, and it would be nice if some of his soundtracks were released on CD: BABY DOLL, THE HUSTLER, THE FUGITIVE KIND, THE RIVER. It would also be very cool for SHOCK! - which he played on - to come out in an official release on CD.

I would definitely spring for a Bear Family set of Homer and Jethro, which is probably the only way we'll ever see their stuff reissued.

It would also be nice to have most of Zappa and the Mothers early albums as they originally appeared. (Is there anyplace that says specifically what Zappa "improved" on each CD on the Rykodisc reissues?)

I don't believe so -- the markings all look like standard domestic Columbia/Sony (C2K 47880). I picked it up in a normal chain record store when Flashpoint was first released.

It's basically the standard Flashpoint disc plus a second disc of goodies. It comes in a neat textured "hardcover book" package, as below (gotta play with the new digital camera). Full tracklist for disc two:

Rock And A Hard Place II
    Miss You IV
    Cook Cook Blues
Everything Is Turning To Gold II
    Winning Ugly VI
    Beast Of Burden (Live)
    Fancy Man Blues
    Harlem Shuffle VI
    Wish I'd Never Met You
    Mixed Emotions IV

I have no idea how rare (or not) this is.

The Flashpopint CD is sorta-collectable. Very few people paid attention to it, but the 8Min version of Miss You 12" is there. It was used for the Rolling Stones Compact Disc Rarities #16 for Westwood One. Other tracks on it appeared on #16 and #20 too.

    Fewer people have those.

Who owns that material? Warners or the Zappa estate? Seems odd that with the Straight/Bizarre reissues from the early 1990s(?) that one got missed.

Obviously - the 6 Neil Young albums others have mentioned here, plus:

    Pearl Harbor and The Explosions

T.Bone Burnett - Proof Through the Night

Jerry Jeff Walker (his first album for MCA)

    Matumbi - Point of View

    King Crimson - USA

    Richard Lloyd - Alchemy

Chico Freeman - Kings of Mali

That's The Way I Feel Now , A Tribute to Thelonious Monk - Various

The Name of This Band is The Talking Heads

The Fall - Live At The Witch Trials (I know this is out on CD - but it was mastered from a substandard vinyl copy with major dropouts in one channel - it needs to be done right).

    Michael,
I just did a search on Ebay and the auction didn't show up. I thought their completed auctions were supposed to go back a month or two but I've noticed lately that a couple of weeks is about it. Even still, it was less than two weeks ago so I don't know where it went.

Anyway, it ended at around $110 for 6 CDs (12 albums) and they are somewhat generic looking. I think the booklets just say something like Capitol versions and have the two album titles.

Don't confuse them with those Russian two-fers!

I'm not sure Andrew. I got excited when I heard that Rhino Handmade was coming out with their CD last year but was disappointed to find out that this album was not included.:(

That's funny.. I used to know the drummer from that local Phoenix band - he gave up rock'n'roll and went to work at his fathers car junk yard.
