9 times out of 10 I can tell who's American and who's not just by which shows are listed. It's freaking ridiculous how little British shows are available to us here when it seems almost all of our stuff is available there.

Yo Hexwood, I had an interesting run in at my favorite book/record store this weekend. My nephew and I were at Half price records looking to purchase some c-d's and music, when I noticed a tall blond gal in here late 30's checking me out. I thought to my self, uh ok, cool. Then I went back to looking for the cd's, she walks in front of me and my nephew and very polite in a English accent excuse me, then smiles at me, Lol, I guess she like my hells angel looks,:righton:Lol. then she pointed to some cd's that were on the lower shelf that were totally unorganized. Asked me if I knew if there were any Rolling Stones down there. I looked at her and said, "Mamm, if you have an eternity to look for it, you could try, but I wouldn't try it. She then looked and laughed really loud at me, she winked and split. Johnny the comedian strikes again!:biglaugh:She was pretty nice looking btw![IMG]

Three years ago I had $1,000 just before my birthday. Three weeks later, I had DVD's of almost every Britcom that I liked. Mind you, there's still many more to get. That time, I got a bit of everything from "Hancock's Half Hour" to "My Family" but my collection/taste is mainly skewed to the 1980's. And yet I still don't (yet) have "The Young Ones", although I do have Neil's Heavy Concept Album. On CD.

Well into Black Adder, not very sophisticated, but it's a pleasure to get Jeeves and Wooster in the same package (ie Fry and Laurie in the same program.)

Father Ted wasn't just made in Ireland as in location etc. Just to clarify, it was a mostly 100% Irish show which was produced by UK channell CH 4. The Irish state tv didn't have the money to produce it at the time, nor in all probability did it have the cohones to produce such a sitcom. Nevertheless it was a 100% Irish concept, Irish humour, scriptwriters, actors, directors (mainly) and location . It was very well produced by CH4 who did what no other British channel would have done at the time, stepped into the surreal and produce such a sitcom with Irish actors.

I couldn't count the amount of times I've watched the 18 episodes. I know parts of them word for word.....and I still laugh at them.
