1-Speed Bike. Nobody but me even mentions him! ;)

(He's the drummer in Godspeed You! Black Emperor and has done some really fun semi-dance music by sampling his own drumming)

  2. Chris DeVoe

I've seen discussion about them here. I love them.

True, to be more explicit I meant music of non anglo saxon origin, such as Reggae, Hip Hop, Chicago House, original Detroit techno. Latin (aside from Santana), Dubstep, Grime, Highlife, modern RnB and old soul (aside from blue-eyed).

  5. Mike Love gets lots of shrift on this forum. Much of it is negative however.

The question wasn't the polarity of the shrift, only it's length.

Nice thought but I don't think I, as a white British person, could really say I am of ethnic origin, could I?

'Ethnic. Relating to a population subgroup (within a larger or dominant national or cultural group) with a common national or cultural tradition'

I don't know the answer to the OP's question in an objective sense. But the one band I think that has done a lot of great work, makes music that I am surprised does not get more love here, but despite that I get the impression is not loved is

    The Foo Fighters.

    I don't understand it.

Some threads just get locked because they are old, not just because the subject is considered uninteresting. But I take your point about it only having three posts.

With regards the OP's question, 'shortest shrift' does not mean most ignored does it? It means most often dismissed. The qty of posts is not the point, it's the sentiment of those posts.

How about Becky & Joe, creators of the demented but yet relentlessly creative YouTube series, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared? Never seen the series mentioned in the Visual Arts section. I've never seen the fantastically catchy (yet still twisted) soundtrack mentioned anywhere either. Great stuff, though quite disturbing and definitely not for everyone, but it's still odd that a series which has amassed over 100 million views in total on YouTube and has been dissected by people all over the world who try to figure out what it all is supposed to mean has never been mentioned at all on SHTV.

If you mean who gets the most glib put-downs and unwarranted insults, probably KISS, but they are discussed here a lot.

Who just doesn't come up much but should? Everyone has their favorite under-the-radar artists, but among well-known, mainstream artists? Marvin Gaye, maybe, but I could be wrong.
