I don't like the word impress but when I've a vinyl sceptic visiting my sofa I usually play any of these:

Elvis Presley: Elvis is Back! (Speakers Corner)
David Bowie: Ziggy Stardust (UK 6E/4E)
Tracy Chapman: S/T (GER original 1st pressing)
AC/DC: Highway to Hell (US original 1st pressing)
Supertramp: Crime of the Century (MFSL pressing)
Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio: Misty and/or Midnight Sugar (both JPN original 1st pressings)
Daft Punk: Random Access Memories (EU pressing)
Kraftwerk: Electric Café (GER original 1st pressing)
Muse: The 2nd Law (EU pressing)
    Nirvana: Nevermind (Pallas reissue)
The Clash: London Calling (HOL original pressing)
Frank Sinatra: Close to You (HOL mid 80's mono DMM pressing)
Mary J Blige: The London Sessions (EU pressing)
Steven Wilson: To the Bone (EU pressing)
Faith no More: King for a Day...Fool for a Lifetime (US original pressing)
Iron Maiden: S/T (UK or JPN 1st pressing)
The Beatles: Sgt Pepper's (50th Anniversary)

The vinyl sceptic usually is a bit less sceptic to vinyl after a listening session playing one or two of these albums... :agree:

Also, the FDR (Full Dynamic Range) pressings from Earache Records also sounded great in general, especially Carcass and Bolt Thrower.

I find that it works better to use a miniature phone plug to RCA adapter and extension cord.

No loss through bluetooth and you can give your guest the miniature phone plug end and allow them to plug into your system and play some of their own favorite music, like they have never heard it being played before.

I agree with you that this SACD will sound spectacular.

    But guest shall understand Wagner.

Not many of my friend like Wagner although I like his music.

This is an exceptional direct-to-disc LP I sometimes play for visitors.

I use either Supertramp's Breakfast in America LP for dynamics and bass, an early 60's mono Everly Brother's LP, Beat & Soul, just because it sounds SO damn good (people can't believe how good mono can sound before the compression and volume wars started) or Sonny Rollins The Bridge LP because it's clear as a bell.

I think if you really wanted to impress your guests you would ask them what artist they are hot about right now?
    Turn on Spotify.
"What album is your favorite of His/Hers?"
Find it and play it through your set.
THAT they might actually tune into as it was THEIR interests.
Anything I could play would make them barf or roll their eyes.

This is a really fun game and is usually where I begin, then once they hear the differences I move into demo tracks.

Start with something people know to pull them in.

Overture to Tannhauser would be nice if it’s a good recording. It’s pretty universally likeable.

If you use Spotify, then you may let quest to choose music.

But I am old fashioned and have only satellite internet, no subscription to internet music.

Thus I am asking people to choose hard source like vinyl or CD.

Thanks for turning me on to that Earthtones...listened to it just now on Qobuz Hi Res and it's very well recorded and has some cool old school R&B vibes going on. Slipped past my radar so thanks for pointing it out.
