What Do You Plan to Buy Over Next 12 Months?

The last thread I responded to made me think about what items were on my radar to buy or trade towards over the next 12 months. My focus really is on vinyl right now as I try to add nice condition, original pressings (mainly 50s/60s jazz) to my collection. I also want to invest in a top-notch ultrasonic cleaner.

Where are your priorities over the next 12 months???

 

Stylus for my AT7V, might look at the brand new Elac Debut Reference DBR62, supposed to be $500 a pair. I like the rough oak finish and the grilles that come with it.

The Oppo broke me bigtime so hopefully nothing, except something breaks.

 

I need to get my main amp recapped...

 

This is where I’m too.

It’s going to be a recapping future. Wild predicament. I think the audio repair guys have a strong business environment going forward.

 

I bought a lot in 2019 so I don’t have solid plans for much in 2020. Who knows though if a super deal on something presents itself.

I would like to swap my Parasound A23 in my family room HT setup with a nice integrated with HT bypass so I can enjoy a little better two channel there. I just put the A23 on CL to see what I can get out of it. I’m also looking to upgrade my 70” Vizio in the same room to something better in the 80”ish range. If I find a deal on a Q650 center and Q50 ATMOS speakers I’ll swap my current center/ATMOS speakers out too.

 

No major purchases are planned at this moment, unless I should happed-across the preamp of my dreams which suddenly causes me to feel the need to upgrade.

A linear power supply for my Oppo 103 is on my wish list at this moment. Also a couple of different USB isolators have caught my interest and are on my wish-list as well. I also might purchase an ultra-rendu and a Roon subscription (except that I haven't decided between going with Roon or Jriver yet).

I also have a few cartridges which are in dire need to retipping.

 

Great titled &/or really interesting M- perfect vinyl $1 LPs.

 

The new Hegel h390 is a distinct possibility. I think it'll be a significant step up from the h190.

 

The Sony TC WE475 double tape deck and some new hard drives for more audio storage.
Don't ask me about CDs and vinyl, too many to list.^^

 

I plan on buying the LAST amp I'll buy, a Simaudio Moon i7. Picking it up this weekend from a local dealer, if I have the nerve. The dealer tells me it's in absolute new condition. He's a Simaudio dealer so we'll see.

 

On the equipment side, nothing unless something breaks. Will buy some albums now and then.

 

I plan on buying some space at the poorhouse...…. seriously........... and soon!

 

New CD player, phono stage and possibly a another T/T or upgrade the two l have, this is still in the researching stage, going to demo a couple of Audionote CD Players.... phono stages do not have a Scooby at this point in time.

 

I'll probably need a new phono cartridge within the next six months or so and more vinyl as usual.

 

All on the "maybe" list for the next year or two:

New headphone amp + DAC
Pair of Sonos Play 5 for the patio
Add a subwoofer or two to the main system
Upgrade my smaller TV (I think it's 42" LCD) to 65"+ OLED

 

Quad PA-One Plus Headphone Amplifier.
Quad ERA-1 Headphones.

 

Probably a new pair of speakers for the bedroom. Perhaps a DD turntable, as well.

 

2m Blue to play decent condition second hand records.
The 2m Red I have now is for average/poor condition records.

 

I want a set of Bluetooth noise cancelling IEMs. Any recommendations?

 

A Rega P6 with Exact. Actually maybe this week.

At Tax return time upgrading my cart. Currently I have a Dynavector 20xl2 on my Luxman PD-171A. Maybe a Dynavector XX-2 or some other cart in the 2K range. Running the TT through a Luxman CL38U-SE. My recent purchases have been a Butcher Block Acoustics TT isolation stand and a set of Audience Conductor Speaker cable for my Aerial 5T's.

 

My partner wants a house so my upgrade party is over for at least the next 5 years
