Supposedly, Rod's reps approached Bob's reps prior to the Stewart song's release & Dylan's name was added to the composer credits.

I wonder if Dylan showed similar courtesy to the estates of Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, Leadbelly, et al with some of his "compositions" like Rollin' & Tumblin', Someday Baby, If You Ever Go to Houston, etc.

Bill Frisell makes everything sound like Bill Frisell (which is a good thing). "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall".

They metal-crunch up the delivery, and the singer makes a lot of to me all terrible choices, but otherwise not really that far afield from Dylan's in shape, tempo, arrangement, effect. Like, I bet a good studio engineer could literally just import and manipulate Dylan's original vocal over this track without it seeming too "off."

Yeh we've all heard this so much hard to hear exactly how innovative/fresh Hendrix's choices and approach compared to the original were. A fair contender despite its familiarity.

I feel like this is just becoming "Dylan covers I like." Merely changing arrangement to acoustic guitar for a Dylan song he happened to do with a band and otherwise delivering it pretty much like him is not getting particularly far from the original.

Not so far from the original, but listening to it for more than 5 seconds will be enough to bring trepidation at the thought of ever hearing Mr Tambourine Man again.

Thick greasy blues rock arrangement, very much like Dylan original except more thudding and mechanical, more boring. But a "farthest from original"??

In no way does the original make me want to fall in love and run away with the singer.

The first Bootleg Series Vol 1-3 set. A live version, I don't know any Dylan studios of it circulate or were made. Rolling Thunder.
