I'm clearing out my physical media collection and mostly just going to AppleTV or a streaming service for movies and TV shows. I thought I would probably keep some of my rarities (like Criterion, Arrow, Kino Lorber) and a handful of things I watch often. Some of the titles I watch often (more than just a handful of times are):

    The Godfather 1, 2 and 3
    Clint Eastwood Westerns
    Harry Potter
Bong Joon Ho stuff (Memories Of Murder, The Host, Parasite)
Christopher Nolan stuff (because the streams don't have full screen)

What would you say are some of your favorites that you watch more than just a few times?

I'd have to say that ' The Great Escape' is the movie I've seen the most often.
Saw it for the first time not too long after its release when I was about ten or so and found it very exciting and thrilling. Still do actually.

'The Ten Commandments' is a much watch every Easter but I can drop in on this movie any time, any scene and ride it out.

Seen 'Alien' and 'Aliens' dozens of times. Great horror/sci-fi.

'The Godfather' , both parts. There is no Part 3 in a better world.

My favourite Hitccock is the seldom discussed 'Lifeboat'- terrific movie.

'M' is one of the greatest movies ever made.

Yeah, I know, three Bogart movies. I keep going back to them. Then there are many that I used to watch frequently when I was younger but have since moved on from.

I've seen North By Northwest more times than I can recall.
I was watching I Married A Witch every Halloween for a while, though I missed it last year.
I've seen Alien at the theatre multiple times, on videocassette multiple times, on TV multiple times, on DVD, and (I think) on blu-ray.

Thinking about chucking all my DVDs. Don't look at anything over and over again. I have faves but I watch them once or twice a year, tops. Streaming has really made the stuff redundant. Thanks for inspiring a cleanout! :D

Black Widow (Winger/Russell) is a guilty pleasure I watch at least once a year
    Signs (Mel Gibson)
    Rear Window
The Ten Commandments (like Wildcat I usually always catch it at Easter)
    Aliens
    Terminator 2
    Breakfast at Tiffany's

To think of the amount of times I have seen each of those movies would probably seem like I am one track minded to some folks, but there is something reassuring for me to watch those films. It is like a favorite album I have listened to a thousand times in my life-it is part of who I am.

There are some movies I watch at least once a year, both as creative inspiration as well as a regular viewer:
    • Jurassic Park
    • Wizard of Oz
    • Ghostbusters
    • Ny neighbour Totoro
    • Aladdin
    • Caddyshack
    • Austin Powers 1 and 2
    • The Back to the Future trilogy
    • Home Alone
It depends on my mood which one I watch but sone movies really have an powerful effect on me.

Totoro for example always has an calming, stress reducing effect on me. From the beautifully drawn backgrounds to the unique and touching soundtrack, it just hits me on another level. Like it somehow bypasses my brain and broadcasts straight to my heart. It isn't nostalgia either since the first time I watched it was just a few years ago.
