what would have been their influences and would there have been an American invasion to Britain.
If the Beatles were American, this Forum would not exist.
They would have been a completely different band.
The US invasion of England was prior to the British invasion of the US, but it was via radio and records
Interesting question, and so I don't mean to dismiss it, but it's a bit like saying, "What if Woody Guthrie had been a Nigerian prince?" The Beatles' background, personalities, influences and and music were so inherently British, they simply wouldn't have been The Beatles had they been born and raised in America.
You mean they're not?
Sorry to break it to you
Now that is an interesting question.
"This Land Is Your Land" would take on a whole new meaning.
What if Bob Dylan was from Tonga?
What if Elvis was from China?
What if Frank Sinatra was from Belgium?
What if Aretha Franklin was from Switzerland?
so many questions?
so few answers?
Another thread full of dumb that will go 75 pages because the Beatles are in the subject line.
If they were American they wouldn't be The Beatles.
There would be no Ringo.
Would Parlophone have taken Meet the Beatles and "Martinized" it for With the Beatles?
Would the Brits have realized that Please Please Me was actually recorded before With the Beatles?
Would the Beatles have cared about the duophonic releases or were they just present for the mono fold downs?
Here’s a question- what if American music had zero impact on Britain?
They'd have probably ended up suing each other left, right and centre.
It would be like now.
They would have been The Monkees.
What if The Beatles were actually from Great Britain but were put together as a answer to The Monkees? Would they have had a short, American tambourine/maraca player and part time lead singer in the band? Food for thought
If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle
They would have pronounced "Saw" properly.
They’d still pale in comparison to Elvis
The answer was there all along.
