Maybe a supergroup with Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen, but I wouldn't count on it.

Other than a one off song, I'm not sure Paul would really ever consider a super group arrangement. Even if it was 1 album. It is interesting to think about though.

I love Electric Arguments. It's a magnificent piece of work. To think each song was (at least claimed to have been) written in a day.

Off topic, has anyone noticed in "Sun Is Shining", at the end of the first verse, when he says "ohhhhhh", that it sounds (very clearly to me, anyways) like two different vocal takes edited together, almost sounding like it clicks to another take in the middle of the "ohhhhh"?

He wasn't even the best drummer in the Rolling Stones, what makes you think he'd cut it for Led Floyd?;)

I wouldn't like that group, where are the rockers!?

I'd surround McCartney with Eric Clapton on lead, and Keith Richards on rhythm with Ian Paice on drums, now that's a super group! It's also one that would absolutely rock!

Realistically does Paul have a "rocker" voice anymore?

I think we've moved into the Yanni/Kenny G/YoYo Ma phase of supergroups.

I’d like to see an “experimental” super group. Something like:

    Paul McCartney
    John Cale
    Brian Eno
    Michael Rother
    Gary Numan
    Suzanne Ciani
    Scott Walker

Call them Paulie and the Blue Sways. ;)

I wonder if the first single will be a cover of the Immigrant Song?;)

Maybe you've moved there, but McCartney hasn't, he's still belting out Helter Skelter.

Though age has taken effect, he can do rockers, it's the slow ballads that really challenge him.

I would be so daring as to say that his rocker voice is all he's got. It's just doesn't sound like his younger rocker voice.

Wasn't there also a rumored leftovers album from New that never materialized?

Uneducated guess: His next album will be classical.

A massive vault excavation of unreleased tracks and b-sides is well, well overdue. Forget Cold Cuts, it should be a massive release on the scale of the Anthologies (or at least Lennon's Anthology set).

I'm reminded of a quote I read in the defunct Egypt Station appreciation thread, about Damon Albarn telling not to work with Kanye. I'd love to hear a collaboration of some sort with Albarn, another of my fave musicians. Produced by Kanye :D

Yep, definitely. His rock voice is the least affected. He should focus his concerts more on that style.

Maybe we are just thinking of two different things. I'm thinking of that last stretch of Who Cares or Maybe I'm Amazed the last time on SNL where he's basically just croaking the songs.

I'm not sure a rock album of just that would be suitable.

I do think his ballad or pop song style voice where he doesn't have to belt it out is what he can still use effectively despite the changes.

My thinking is they just repeated the first verse for the second and did a sloppy join at that point.

I don't know, I don't feel the chemistry. They'd just do their bluesrock riffs and then take a nap.
