What is Paul McCartney's greatest achievement?

Giving Ireland back to the Irish.

 

It's probably having not produced any worthwhile music for 50 years yet he seems to generate a disproptionate amount of discussion given the low quality output.

To be recording in the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's 1980's 1990's and 2000's+ 2010's+ 2020's.

 

So all the artists, musicians, and bands around the world who absolutely love his music and think the majority of it is of the absolute highest quality are all wrong?!

I just want to see how far he is willing to go.

 

Saving his money so he has a billion dollars. I'd blow it.

 

His greatest achievement? Saying yes to Ivan Vaughn's invitation to join him for the village fete and deciding to show off. Without that, none of his other achievements would likely have happened.

It’s a tough question, because he’s so ridiculously talented in all aspects of music. But if you make me pick one thing, I’d say melodic invention - has anyone ever written so many great melodies?

 

OK, but be careful what you wish for. Trolls tend to have a lot of time on their hands and not much else to do.

I’ve never owned a Beatles or McCartney record. But the range of responses on here is testimony to his greatness which is undeniable.
