I especially think the bridge is as trippy as it gets.

Yeah, I think "Junk" has the indirect spiritual context via it's poetic suggestion of living in a material world - and a couple of years before Harrison was more direct with that specific sentiment. Mull has sentimental reverie but - as a folk song - not as wistful a melody i.e. less than dreamy as you note.

'Some People Never Know'. Not in the production so much, but the vocals and the melody have a slightly dreamy quality.

I'm not real familiar with McCartney's solo output but like others here I'd suggest Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey. And not to forget Ringo, I'll nominate It Don't Come Easy. I tend to think all four of those could have found a comfortable home on a post-1970 Beatles album had it ever come about.

I feel the same way. Takes me away.

Sounds like to me you're looking for nothing and got it. The OP says the two remind him of each other. Clearly they don't for you.

But I'll bite --yes, "lush" and "dreamy" are nonmusical terms but I think anyone remotely familiar with the two would likely agree with those descriptors -- they are "lush" and "dreamy." Clearly those impressions are evoked by the production moves, especially in the intros. In both the guitars are mixed in such a way they sound soft, muted, a bit hazy/distant, as opposed to clear, loud and in your face. Reverb. The "halleleujah" and "hare krishna" and prayer chants also evoke a dreamy image.

Well, I guess again it could be the production, the soft rising and descending strings, and perhaps the entire lyric (not one of his best, admittedly), which attempts to describe a dream vision that the singer experienced as something spiritual, and/or possibly real, but cannot differentiate what was real and what was not ("...Seemed so very real, it seemed so real to me..."). All of the imagery of the lyric evokes what people who've recounted "spiritual" experiences often repeat -- what they saw, felt, etc., seemed real, felt real, but was dreamlike/hallucination-like so simply could not have been. Add to that the 'whispering trees' -- often a metaphor for spirits -- and somebody calling his name (another oft repeated dream as well as spiritual experience motif) and you get a whole that says, unmistakably, "spiritual."

But for others it evokes nothing, or other images. A bowling alley perhaps. Or a Zamboni.

It's cool when people with no apparent musical knowledge take umbrage when confronted with their shortcomings and try to hide their inadequacy behind lectures. I guess it's easier than actually learning about music.

Quite interesting OP question. .. My picks re songs with similar dreamy (and I'd argue spiritual) feel and catchy hooks, though don't necessarily expect agreement here...they work for me.

Give the OP a break, he met your criticism more than halfway, admitted that others might see things totally different, then you go full coil snark cobra on him , spitting venom when he was engaging politely. The topic is an interesting question, at least I for one learned about some good Paul songs.

    Possibly the ultimate McCartney earworm.
Everything in it is a hook. The intro, the verse, the chorus , the 'middle eight', the instrumental break/solo, the outro...pure pop for potheads.

First job I ever had was a pin-monkey at a bowling alley where drunken Air Force guys would tip generously.
Also drove a Zaboni a few times.
    Thanks for your post.

He gets a small demerit for the smarmy lip smack bit. Song didn’t need it.
