What is the difference between Pentode and Tetrode

    In reviews of different tubes, I have seen the EL34 (6CA7) referred to as a tetrode and the 6550A as a pentode. What is the difference?

    Thanks, from reading the article I now see the EL34 is a pentode and the 6550 a tetrode, not the other way round as I had read elsewhere.
