Good compilation, certainly - but hardly a "Best of?" Three hit singles and a selection of album tracks.

I'd give it a pass... There are quite a few compilations out there like that, a few hits and a bunch of album cuts, songs that are believed to be the 'best' of the artist's songs, not necessarily strictly 'hits'.

I already knew Los Bravos' two big hits but I recently got this compilation and I'm glad to discover some of their other songs. They had some really good music, just makes you wanna dance.

After reading a thread about her on this forum, I played this with my Amazon Music. I forgot how good she was!

Picked up a copy of this at a thrift today! Looking forward to playing it as I only have her first two albums on CD.

Me too. It came on today in the car - my version has the dreaded CSG removed making it sound more natural.

superb MFSL pressing with excellent lists of songs by Kenny Rogers! The Gambler and Ruby (Don't take your love to town) are two standouts on this album!
Melissa's Greatest hits is underrated and also a great pressing and mastering!

It’s a compilation, though. I’d say it counts.

I'd say it counts as well... If this thread were strictly asking for "greatest hits" packages, then I could see questioning it... But, being the title of this thread is asking for "the best of albums", it counts...

    I agree...it's a compilation, after all :)

For me, I dusted off Zappa's Mothermania, while eating some breakfast.

I kid not, this one is a game changer. I no longer think of the Rascals as a top tier singles band. No longer. Groovin' may even creep into my top 100.
