Ah, I’m surprised it was named. Yes, Boyhood for me too. And maybe the only one this century.

Most recent? That’s a good question. I’m kinda amazed that when people are asked to compile a list of their top 10 movies of ALL TIME some of their range of choices only goes back five years! Wow. I think if some people sat down and wrote a list of their top 10 movies of all time — a lot of the ones they’re mentioning just because they’re recent, would probably would get bumped. I mean I loved “the witch” but I doubt it would make the cut of my top 10 films of ALL TIME. There are just too many great films if you start thinking back on them. I think the most recent I might getmight be “Raiders of The Lost Ark.” Anyway I think that’s in my top 10.

After that there may be a couple of Tarantino movies. Maybe a De Palma film or two, plus Hitchcock. Don't really have a top 10 list per se.

Suspense is definitely my favorite genre.

    Probably 'Fred Ott's Sneeze.'
Once the 1900s rolled around, and the production companies left the East coast and started springing up in Hollywood, it all started to go downhill.

Maybe my avatar, Mulholland Dr. (2001) might make it in. It's quite hard to have a top ten all time list - that's a lot of cinema from which to choose!

Definitely! After Traffic of Souls, movies basically became so commercial it's unbelievable.

The newly released Eighth Grade > as a retired middle school teacher of 37 years this movie very much hit home for its realistic/accurate portrayal of what a lot of middle school boys ad girls go through on a daily basis.

As a fan of films going back to the first talkies, coupled with an aversion to rate a film too high unless it has shown staying power over time, I'd have to go back a long way to come up with a literal answer. Which might be Apocalypse Now.

But what I think the OP is asking for is a more recent film. I did think No Country for Old Men is likely to show real staying power. More recently a film that might is last year's Dunkirk.

    But my best answer is

Spectacular film I see something new in every time I see it.

  25. I hated the ending.
