None. As soon as I discover that I have something valuable, I put it on eBay. I don't want to be responsible for anything that rare.
First pressing of "Something Else" Still has the import stickers on it. That's not to say it's worth much. But it's valuable to me as I've had it for over 60 years.
I HAD one of these back in the day (a nice NM- example) but sold it a few years back because I wasn't happy with the sound quality of Penny Lane! The vinyl was great, but the mix itself sounds a tad muddy.
Man, do I wish I'd been able to invest - or get my dad to invest, since I was a teen - in some collectibles in the 80s! I remember you could get a mint copy of "Action Comics" #1 for roughly $20,000 back then. Lotta money, but now such a magazine would go for millions! And yeah, you could get Butchers for relatively cheap!
I own no valuable vinyl, but if we extend into CDs, my most valuable would likely be the signed limited edition "Sound + Vision" box from 1989: Dunno what it's worth - assuming it's a good deal more than the $350 I paid 30 years ago!
Who's Next signed by all four and signed John Entwistle solo albums from Smash thru the Horror Rock single. Unsigned rarities would be these three. My copy of Il Barritz is the only one I've seen. The two Wally Waller albums are library records, obviously with limited distribution.
Mine is the Dwarves/ENT split single. Only 31 ever made! The cover used to be my avatar as it is the rarest record I own but apparently somebody was offended and complained and I was asked to change it. Dwarves / E.N.T.* - Dwarves / E.N.T.
vinyl seems to be a bit artificially inflated by the recent resurgence in its sales. i saw a used original 'woodstock' album for $100 last week. i remember when you could buy this for $1.
I have a "real" toshiba "ABBEY ROAD" NEAR MINT C.D......Does that count?!I have ot up on ebay.....not really into selling it and I'm more likely to take it dow. As it's been up for only a couple of weeks now I'm definitely having cold feet.....
Bob Dylan ~ Personally owned and used Columbia 10'' acetates by Dylan, from the W. Houston St. Studio hoard.
My avatar is one of the rarer records in my collection. Also have a Stereo Beatles and Frank Ifield LP.
It’s hard to nail down just a few from my rarities, but here are a some that come to mind: Rarest: When Jimmy Page released his “Soundtracks” box set in 2015, he created a rare subset of 109 limited edition boxes that were embossed, numbered, signed, and came in deluxe bonded leather packaging. These 109 boxes were only available and offered for sale by way of a world wide lottery. I entered and I won box 92 or 26 - I may never know which one it is because it is hand numbered lengthwise on the side, and can be read either way. Most Expensive: I have quite a few, but here are a handful to choose from: -Led Zeppelin 1 and 3 - white label promos. -Black Sabbath Master of Reality and Volume 4 - white label promos. -David Gilmour - Live in Gdańsk box set - still sealed. -Near mint copies of Plastic Cloud and The British North American Act - In the Beginning. Both albums are currently valued at about $1500 to $2000 each. -Second state Butcher Cover - in near mint condition and still in shrink. -Elvis’s Singer Sewing Machines release of Flaming Star - mint and still sealed.
2nd state butcher cover in excellent condition that came in a box of LP's that I said I didn't want but was dropped of on my front porch. Also in the box was an original copy of Pet Sounds. This box of records came from my ex-wife and I'm sure I bought them originally.
The Beatles ~ Hollywood Bowl Acetate LP U.S. Sterling Sound Inc. .. Very early preliminary 12'' two sided acetate, This has different songs, running order, unheard Lennon stage chatter.. I think there are six different songs, dates to 7/14/76 .. with the original Sterling LP cover. The album was issued in May, 1977. This is the final H.B. Capitol U.S. acetate 12'' LP, cut by ''wt'' Wally Traugott dated 2/9 /77 .
Original NYC pressings of Wayne Shorter's first 3 Blue Note albums - Night Dreamer, JuJu, Speak No Evil
I've got several worth $200+, but my favorite is probably my copy of R.E.M.'s Out of Time from Spain that has a unique jacket (only 70 were produced). I got mine in 1995. Gripsweat - R.E.M. Out of Time ULTRA-RARE SPANISH LP 1991 Unique Cover ONLY 70 MADE! rem
going by the median price on discogs, my top three are; The Stranglers - Giants The Fall - Imperial Wax Solvent Led Zep IV - Classic Records issue The first two I bought at original retail price when they were released with no inkling that they would go up in value at all.
