Rule-It has to be an album done by the artist when the band was still together. A period of inactivity is OK. Example-The Kiss solo albums. Just an example of course.
So, I don't think any of The Beatles "solo" albums qualify.

    Here is mine.
    Chris Squire-Fish Out of Water

It will probably be poo poo'd, but

Ace Frehley - Ace Frehley is the first that comes to mind.

You are a brave man. I think Ace's solo album is not too bad either. Heck it has New York Groove so there ya go.
BTW- PG 3 does not count. See the rule.

Rod Stewart's EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY is a clear winner here, unless you regard Michael Jackson as still part of a group circa OFF THE WALL or THRILLER.

I guess that counts. Wings were still together when it was recorded. My initial post was incorrect about post Beatle albums since Wings were a band.

From 1996 when Neil Peart was riding his motorcycle all over the world dealing with the loss of his daughter & wife. Rush was still together, they just didn't know when/if they were going to play again.

I like it a lot but not as much as Chris Squire's solo album. I am a big Yes fan.
