I don't know if I can do that Johnny. There are too many masterpieces to choose and my answer changes everyday! :p Pet Sounds, obviously will always be up there. Highway 61 Revisited too.

This has gone through my head for a while, so I must really feel and believe that if Lifehouse had been fully realized as a double album, it would be my absolute favorite album of all time.
Townshend was writing the ultimate classic rock songs during that period in my view.

Most of the time it's the one I'm listening to at any given moment.

You misunderstood what I meant. I was referring to how he seemed to suggest it wasn't that popular.

This is number two or three for me. Excellent album.

Joy Division - 'Closer'... the angst in Ian Curtis' lyrics, the passion in his bariton voice, the experimental production of Martin Hannett, the great bass lines of Peter Hook,..

... and what a historical signifigance for the post-punk genre and the fashion the 'here-are-the-young-men' will wear for years: all colours as long it's black!

These three have always stayed in heavy rotation:
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Hitchhike to Rhome - Old 97's
The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion - The Black Crowes

I've loved so many records, and keep finding more to love, new and old....

But, push comes to shove, I'd probably go with Highway 61 Revisited as my very favorite.

john lennonist There ONCE was a NOTE, PURE and EASY...

I had previously displayed Neil Love on Post 124... but he is deserving of more mentions.

There are at least three or four Neil albums that I believe could be someone's favorite.

I wonder how many of these choices came out after 1990? (my choice is from 76 so I'm not trying to be disparaging at all just curious)

Probably a couple choices on each page, hard to say since a lot of people kind of cheated and listed a bunch of albums, so maybe 5%.
