Woops, my Pollack edition of Phish's Junta goes for quite a bit more. Now I need my brother to give me his original vinyl pressing of Lawn Boy on Rough Trade.

I have Junta on cassette that I purchased at a show in 1989. I don't know if one has ever sold. I had someone ask the second I put it up on Discogs. I should ask what they'd pay for it.

I would think based on this Discogs info it might be rather valuable:

    Have:
    3
    • Want:
      98

Is it the pink cover or the black and white Pollack cover? My dorm neighbor in college in '91 had the Pollack cover, also before they were picked up on a label. I'm sure both would command stupid money. I wish I had grabbed one when I had a chance, or Lawn Boy with "Fee" as a bonus track and the title track mastered at the incorrect, slow speed.

    According to Discogs: $900 CAD

20x what I paid for it.

    No Exit (4) - No Exit »

However - and I can't find it now - but I saw one sell for $1200CAD a few years ago locally (I live in Vancouver area where the band and the pressing are from) when there was an uptick in activity for this album...

I have to amend my post from 2015 as I recently acquired an Israeli first pressing of 'Live At Leeds' with the Hebrew text on the front & rear cover and it is now the most rare & valuable lp in my collection. The first pressing (about 500 copies) was quickly withdrawn when it was discovered that the Hebrew text read something to the effect of "Hard Rock Holocaust" and the album was then reissued (twice) without the Hebrew text and even the reissues go for some fairly big money these days.

  9. I have a near-complete run of the first-series Sub Pop Singles Club releases, that still needs this single. I'll trade you an original indie copy of the first KD Lang album for it. :D

Other valuable releases that come immediately to mind:

SNFU, "She's Not On the Menu" 7" - sells for $100-250
Soundgarden - "Hunted Down" 7" - goes for around $300-400
    Green River - "Together We'll Never" 7" - goes for around $50-100
Sonic Youth - (Overkill) Yr Idols 7" - goes for around $100
Beck, Sea Change, MoFi pink vinyl - was pretty surprised to see this one goes in the $400-600 range
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - A Reverse Willie Horton LP - goes for around $50-60

I was once owed £20 by a friend, this was the `80`s. I wasn`t that bothered about it because I knew he would pay me back. The thing is he was bothered so one day he asks me if I would take some LPs that his uncle gave given to him. There were 3 LPs, George Harrison`s `All Things Must Pass` and `The Concert For Bangla Desh` both these box sets were in very good condition and they still are. The 3rd LP was The Beatles `Please Please Me`, yes that one, Mono, GOLD and BLACK label. Was I excited, did I realise that this LP was worth a couple of grand? NO I wasn`t, the bloody vinyl looked like someone, no a tap dancing troupe had been practising on it, it was totally unplayable. The inner sleeve was missing, the outer sleeve was present, well part of it was. The upper left corner had a small chunk ripped off, the bottom right corner had a big chunk ripped off otherwise the sleeve was in good nick!

About a month later there was a Record Fair in Liverpool, I went with friends who laughed at me when I showed them what I was taking to trade or sell, yes `Please Please Me`. "Nobody`s gonna buy that from you you crackpot", "Ha, you wanna bet, a pint each, I`ll bet the 3 of you a pint each". We go into the Record Fair, it was an event we attended often. So we first had a look around then I approached a dealer who specialised in Beatles collectables. My mates were laughing and joking by my side. The dealer spent what seemed like an eternity inspecting it with his shifty eyes. He offers me £10, £20 trade, I went to take the LP from him, he then offered me £20 which rose to £75, £150 trade. I snatched the guy`s hand off. I knew he would make at least twice as much from the deal but really the LP was a train wreck.

I enjoyed the lager my mates paid up with. The friend who had paid the loan with the LPs? He wasn`t a music fan so he didn`t come to the Record Fair. When I gave him £55 and £10 for the `ATMP` & `TCFBD` he thought I was joking. I told him no and that`s what friends are for.

Who pays $1,700 + for a UK 1st pressing of the Wish You Were Here vinyl, or $1,020.00 for a mono Parlophone Revolver ????

Wow, some of you have some pretty valuable records! Impressive.

Mine is probably my original 1980 UK pressing of Sandinista! (CBS). I've seen it go for over $100.

I have the mono BBM and doubt I'll ever own anything more valuable. Ten of Swords would be the runnerup.

Its been mentioned quite a bit, but Wildflowers by TP.

I picked it up (sealed) for maybe $20 while in college. I've listened it maybe twice over the years.

!!! They were fine when I posted them at the time, and curiously the Traffic one (the monster url) is OK in the alert I received about your quote. My flabber is bigly gasted. :)

(The site doesn't usually allow these dodgy url's to be posted as they're too big.)
