Add About a Boy to my list. After seeing this movie for the first time Saturday on Starz!, I have seen it 4 times already and I still like it. It's nothing ground breaking, but it is quite pleasant and quaint with a very decent soundtrack by Badly Drawn Boy.

Speaking of Hugh Grant, that reminded me of another movie that I can watch over and over. I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned it (or even if I mentioned it already) but there is the hysterically funny, IMO, Four Weddings and a Funeral. The movie that really made Hugh Grant's career, here in the colonies anyway.

The Poseidon Adventure is a classic that I can still get thrills from every time I watch it.

After watching The Poseidon Adventure, I usually have to watch The Towering Inferno to dry off. ;)

There is a little insane movie called "Cul de Sac" (Polanski 1966) I enjoy watching over and over as much as Blow-Up.

There are a lot of "cult classics" that are worthy of repeated watching, but my all time favorite that I NEVER get tired of is the incomparable "Tapeheads" starring Tim Robbins and John Cusack, produced by none other than Michael Nesmith.

It's a HILARIOUS movie with so many sight gags and inside jokes that you need to watch it a few times before it all starts to gel. On top of that the MUSIC is absolutely fantastic. The soundtrack is brilliant, with acts such as Junior Walker, Sam Moore (of Sam & Dave fame), Bo Diddley, King Cotton, Fishbone and Devo.

I cannot recommend this movie strongly enough! I would characterize at as Blues Brothers meets Dumb & Dumber, but much better than that mixture might suggest.

    Editorial review stolen from Amazon.com:

This underground comedy pairs two well-known actors with unique comic timing between them in a story of pursuing dreams amidst harsh realities. Two luckless life-long friends and suddenly unemployed security guards (Tim Robbins and John Cusack) seek to fulfill a lifelong dream try their hand at music-video production. Along the way they encounter the worst the music and television business has to offer, falling victim to a few scams and all the while clinging to their unbeatable optimism. Finally they hit upon an idea to resurrect a long-dead 1960s group, with predictably disastrous results. Blues legends Junior Walker and Sam Moore make appearances, and the soundtrack is a treat, featuring the likes of Bo Diddley and Devo. As a satire of the video age, it's hit and miss, but enough comic moments exist between the two leads to make Tapeheads an interesting diversion. --Robert Lane

    Casablanca
Any Clint Eastwood western - I don't care for the Dirty Harry movies though.
    Jaws

I just rented this one, it is amazing. I grew up on this film as a kid on the weekends, to see it uncut and without commercials is a treat.

This is a great film for so many reasons:
    • Henry Fonda for the first time as a villian, it tore people up, but was great casting. And those incredibly blue eyes!
    • This was the film that made Charles Bronson.
    • A great turn by Jason Robards.
    • And Claudia Cardinale, va-va-voom!
    • Plus Sergio Leone: incredible close-ups, Tarantino-like references/homages to other great westerns, and the full use of letterbox Panavision on those great landscapes. Great stuff.
    Groundhog Day
So quick and witty, it gets me every time.
