I'm thinking, wishfully I hasten to add:

    1. The Rolling Stones - New studio album, or archive I don't mind

    2. Bob Dylan - New Studio album, hopefully all his own material, or Bootleg Series, though I don't want anymore 60s material, be it protest, electric, acoustic, country rock.

    3. Neil Young - Psychedelic Pill tour material, or Toast sessions hopefully.

    4. Keith Richards - Solo albums remastered with extra tracks

    5. David Bowie - into the 90s box set - I don't mind if it has, or doesn't have, Tin Machine

    6. Jerry Lee Lewis - More BGO reissues

    7. Procol Harum - Broken Barricades reissue on Esoteric

Monster 25th was actually confirmed for late 2019 release the other day. It's got all 4 of them. Not sure how to make it interesting beyond getting the vinyl back in print. I single 1995 show screenshot video with nice audio would do the trick - plus the full "Rough Cut" documentary.

Some new music is being released this Thursday. No more details than that at this point. The album will probably be an automatic buy for me.

Saw Nick Waterhouse in concert last night, and he played a few tracks from his upcoming album, to be released in March of '19. Sounds like his fourth album just might be his best yet, which is sayin' something, considering his latest LP, Never Twice was phenomenal.

I also got the incredible opportunity to talk with Nick for a few minutes about his new album. He showed me a few videos of one of the sessions, pretty much playing live to 16-track reel to reel. He said that all of the mixing and mastering is analog, from the initial recording through the listeners' speakers (if they purchase the vinyl). Pretty freakin' cool, and definitely a big part of why his albums sound so much like true early 60s rock and roll LPs. Not only is Nick a great musician, but he is a genuinely great guy! I know I'll be preordering this album as soon as possible...

  23. Another pick for the new Delines album The Imperial which comes out in January.Colfax was wonderful.By the way Rough Trade are selling The Imperial with a second cd with 5 extra tracks at the standard cd price.
Someone above mentioned the REM Monster anniversary. If you read the linked article carefully it says that while there will be a reissue next year the Monster box set doesn't come out until 2020 which makes it a 26th Anniversary present.

I think Rival Sons is scheduled to put something out in 2019. While they have some great songs, never felt satisfied with their lp releases. Mixed bag for me. Maybe 2019 will be the year...

    This is the dream:

SP: I think what you did is tremendous, because I never would have thought that a 30-CD set of the complete performances would have been possible anyway.

AZ: It’s fully compiled. It’s mixed, fully compiled. It absolutely exists. But will we ever be able to release it? My guess is no. Seeing how hard it was to clear things for this package, my guess is that it’s probably not going to happen until everybody’s dead, probably including me. So at some point I will make sure that the Smithsonian and the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and whoever gets copies of this so at the very least the graduate students of the future and anybody that cares will be able to hear this somewhere. But my guess is that it probably isn’t releasable in that sense.

non sequitur: Didn't news about a new album from The Vodka Family Winstons drop circa Spring 2017? Gibby's psychoses wear me out ... the jingle of some new tunes / would be good right now
