In the past week I've watched V and two-thirds of V The Final Battle. I'll finish up The Final Battle tonight after my Rat-aroni din-din....
The Johnny Cash Show and it's FANTASTIC. Quality of the performances is just superb and Mr. Cash was a perfect natural as a host. Really great fun to watch. it was filmed at Ryman Auditorium, home of the Opry. I stumbled across it on GET TV. The picture quality is awful but the show itself is so great that I put up with it. I've read that Time/Life has that show on disc and am tempted to order it. I wonder if all the musical performances have been retained?
An old friend of mine and I were talking about the late actor Ted Bessell, (who was best known for his role on "That Girl") and my friend asked if I had ever seen the episode that he appeared in, on "Love American Style" and I hadn't. So, thanks to my local library, they had Season One of the show on DVD and my wife and I have been watching that this past week. Ted Bessell was great, as always, but whoa, I forgot just how silly "Love American Style" was and when I say silly, I mean stupid silly! Looking back, "Bewitched" was high brow compared to this drivel. I will, however, admit to still loving the theme song by The Cowsills
Actually its the new Sabrina made for Netflix not the old Sabrina I just realized this thread was for old shows haha sorry .
I have watch the Carol Burnett show a few times on PBS was pretty funny television has changed a lot watching her such talent you don’t see those kinds of shows anymore interesting to look back.
Bachelor Father is the best tv program ever, especially when Bently 'discovers' another in a series of attractive single women neighbors (she just moved in!) and his eyes go all hypnotic swirly. And Peter acts like the Korean Joey Bishop, insulting everything in sight.
The TV Series The Fugitive Starring David Janssen (As Richard Kimble) With Great Guest Stars Every Week And Great Narrative By William Cannon.
Just added The Dakotas to the mix. What a great show and much better than any of the better known and longer running Warner Brothers westerns. Also a lot grittier than the others. Also just picked up a few episodes of Joe and Sons with Richard Castellano. Not a great show but it has its moments and Jerry Stiller is always funny.
I have the double disc The Best of the Johnny Cash Show 1969-1971 and it’s wonderful. It’s not full episodes but contains many, many wonderful musical performances including Neil Young, Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, Derek and the Dominoes, plus many great performances from Johnny himself, and the family. I don’t know if it’s still in print but it’s a keeper for sure.
