Haha....not big on the series, but I STILL sometimes pull up the two-part finale. It was so refreshing when it aired. He made it!

Back then they had to constantly tell us what quarter it is, how much time is left on the clock, what down it is, and what the score is. Now that those things are on the screen, they have to talk about something else.

This show was sort of famous for being the lowest rated television show in NBC's lowest rated season ever. Week after week it was on the bottom of the ratings along with NBC's other shows. It was on as the same time as Dallas so it didn't have a chance even if it had been the funniest show on television.

I love watching disasters so one week I watched it and I thought it was pretty funny, something about a guy trying to impress a girl who lives on the floor below him by hanging a message in front of her window. The most shocking is that there were no commercials. NBC's overall ratings were so bad that they couldn't offer "make goods" to compensate advertisers so every commercial break was full of promos for NBC's other terrible programs that no one was watching. That's hard to imagine today.

I checked the guide. It was only for that short sequence of two shows.

    Kojak

Watched it all the time in the 70's. Got to college and had a dinky little B&W. No cable. 2 older guys on the other side of the dorm could pull channels in. We had a deal. They take the set, I get to watch Kojak as many night of the week in their place that I wanted (it was in synd). One night one guy locks the door and pulls out a pound of weed and begin cutting and bagging it. I did a lot of weed, but grew up in a small town and never saw so much weed in my life. Just sat there, playing it cool with only one eye on Kojak. Found out years later not a soul on the floor knew he was a dealer except me and the roommate. He never sold to guys on the floor. Smart.......

My Dad and I watched Kojak together when it originally aired in the 70s. Police Story was another one in the 70s we watched.
