Lately I have watched a few reaction videos where the person reacting is watching/listening to Xanadu live from 1981 Exit Stage Left. It typically leaves them speechless. How can three guys make all those sounds...

Kind of taking a break after listening to them every few days for months since Neil earlier this year.

Last one was Hold Your Fire. That one gets some flak for being a bit sterile, but it's sort of a nostalgic time piece*.

    * Almost typed "Time Peace". Was listening to that earlier today. Rascals.

After Neil's passing I find my 3 fellow Canucks from my home province more endearing than ever and more amazed at their collective brilliance.

We shan't see the likes of them again.

Funny to see this thread right now, as I'm currently right in the middle of the first side of Presto, "War Paint" is up next...

(Not my favorite Rush album, but even the worst ones are relatively quite good, and like the poster above said about HTF, this one is "really of its time" for me, I was right in the middle of college...I was heavily into GnR and other hard rock at the time and Rush was definitely not very heavy in those days, yet I still really liked - as I do to this day - the great songs on this album, such as "The Pass," the title track, "Red Tide," "Available Light"...unfortunately, there's also the likes of "Chain Lightning" and "Superconductor" too ; )

I was listening to Chronicles on my runs recently. The material on the second disc (from Grace Under Pressure onwards) is much less distinctive and interesting than the material on the first disc. Like a lot of people, I drifted away from Rush as the 80s wore on and never picked up with them again. Did they become ‘interesting’ again at some point?

Most recently I was playing the 2013 remaster of the original mix of Vapor Trails - this album is so great!

Bytor & The Snow Dog, from All The World's A Stage. Every time I listen to that piece, I can image an orchestra behind them while Alex is doing his spacey guitar distortion effects.

I last listened to them on Friday, everything from FBN through Waves. They were my home office workday compadres. Also had my acoustic out and played through Rivendell, Fountain of Lamneth, various acoustic bits of theirs.

First hard rock album I ever bought. Thought I was being cool when I turned up the volume really loud first semester of college. Got yelled at by lesser fans lol.
