Is this fragment taken from the album version or...?

I think that was the way it was for a lot of viewers. It had a short shelf-life, but the first couple of seasons were really quite compelling and entertaining. Some shows aren't destined for longevity, but for the short time that they matter, they leave their mark.

Yeah, it sounds like it was an edit from the G&C album version made for the television scene.

Nice one! Smugglers Blues was the first song that came to mind.

I believe they just used the single edit, from what I can tell.

His songs 'Tiny Demons' (in the "Little Prince" episode) and 'Flesh' (in the "Tale of the Goat" episode) appeared in Miami Vice, according to that Miami Vice music fandom wiki.

Great show, great SDTK. I have the Steve Hoffman mastered MCA CD. I'm a fan of Jan Hammer's instrumental music. I have a CD of it.

I remember buying the second Miami Vice soundtrack back in the late 80s...
because, at the time, it was the only way you could get the Roxy Music B-side 'Lover' on CD.

That episode By Hooker By Crook was subjected to some censorship issues.
There's a scene where Vanity is strangled across a glass coffee table, intercut w/ Don and Melanie doing the horizontal bop. Song: Winwood's Split Decision
They were instructed to make cuts, told the censors they had, but aired it uncut.
