When I was born Wig-Wam Bam by The Sweet was #1 in the German Single-Charts. Not a really good song ... ;)

Can't Buy Me Love. At that point, the Beatles owned all top five spots on the U.S. chart.

No it doesn't. It's a cracking pre-punk pop tune, produced by Alan Parsons.

This lists the Canadian charts by week from 1957-1986: http://www.webfitz.com/lyrics/Chartlst.html

Looks like the Canadian #1 when I was born (June 16, 1967) was probably "San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair)" by Scott McKenzie :thumbsup: At least it was #1 when I was 3 days old.

In the UK & Australia, "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" by Procol Harum was #1 and in the USA it was "Respect" by Aretha Franklin. Not too shabby. :)

Be glad it wasn't "Seasons In The Sun" by Terry Jacks or "Playground In My Mind" by Clint Holmes.

 Too bad the charts don't go back far enough to verify it.
