What Surround Receiver Also Has Amazing Stereo

    As for streaming, yeah AVM60 works, using DTS-playfi. I had it setup to pull from my NAS and it was working fine. I'm not much for streaming on this system, so haven't used it in a while.

    Today avr are built for surround sound which is fine if you want to watch movies but for pure audio nothing will beat a good separate system

    Surround mixes ARE pure audio. Don't try to muddy up the water. :p

    Late reply to this. I found that two channel stereo amps fell behind in the late 2000s from their AV brethren. AV amps from the likes of Onkyo were delivering functionality and sound quality, and in the end I went with the TX-NR818 which was a fabulous amp in stereo only. Later I paired it with some Acoustic Energy AE22 actives as a preamp and that was a magnificent pairing.

    I do appreciate that manufacturers have responded to the needs of audio consumers in the last decade to produce goods which are both high quality and flexible. These may have been mutually exclusive once upon a time, not so now.
