Wags, I own a DLP projector. Well, used to own. I exchanged it with my parents for a Samsung HDTV.

It was one of the worst things I could have done. I don't like the HDTV. The DLP throws an amazing image, it goes as big (or small) as it needs to be, it's portable, I like the image quality of the projector a lot more, the TV goes out of adjustment every once in a while...

I'd definitely keep the projector, and install it in a smaller space.

Curious, What's the price on a unit like yours in the used market?

Thanks Wags, Remember, you only live once (although some will debate that...OK, that we remember anyway!)...If it's important to your happiness, I'd look for the proper house to accomodate your hobby! If you don't, you'll always feel the loss...

Basically, that is what you have to do.

I think you are a little too concerned about the size of the room, be a little more flexible. I have a simlar type DLP (Marantz) with the Firehawk that is 90" wide and the room is only 13' deep. The seating is about 12' from the screen and its fine. There is room for about 4-5 people to comfortably watch something. Also compromise a little on the "dedicated" aspect. My theater room also doubles as a rec-type room where my kids GameCube is set up with a TV etc.

Your right about the Firehawk screen, it will retain its value very well.

    Hi Wags,

Here's how i would say it:

"Honey, your top 5 house choices are out because I need a dedicated room that is 20' x 15' for the home theatre/hi-fi system".

Otherwise, send me a PM and i'll discuss purchasing it from ya!
