What type of chair do you use to listen to music?

The white and orange Herman Miller Mirra 2 on the right. It's great for work, but I'd like something more comfy for music.

 

That's my exact chair in my den. It's falling apart a bit so I'm in the market for a new chair. I may get the same one...lol.

I think we are working from different definitions of what “money maker” refers to in that phrase...

 

I don’t have permanent seating in the sweet spot currently, but the spot on the couch where I normally sit is also a go-to for our dog. I generally just let her have it, and in an ideal situation use it as an excuse to re-arrange what I need to to get a chair in the sweet spot.

 

Whichever one is available.

 

Mine's starting to look pretty shabby as well after ten years but it's just to darn comfortable to toss out. Oh well, maybe Santa Claus will be good to me this year.

 

I grew up with the song by blues man "Elmore James" who wrote it. A spinoff of another song "Roll your money maker" but the variation by Elmore James was the more popular song. During the 60's it was widely know that men didn't have money makers, but women did. My Dad use to play it with many other blues songs every Friday thru Sunday morning a the weekly Fish fry/ Biz Wiz card game....lots of fish...booze and Blues the entire weekend at my house as a kid.

Why you say a money maker is?

 

Yeah, I know the song. It’s just a booty, right? I definitely have one (though I’m not confident in its money-making capabilities...).

I want a chair! The GF bought us a lovely sectional couch from Room and Board some years ago. Now I am craving a chair again, I slouch to much, and have no place to put one. And like every couch I've ever owned the sweetspot is the crack between two cushions.

 

You need a couch with three cushions.

Well, Oxford English Dictionary defines the phrase “shake one’s moneymaker” as “Dance energetically”, which is how I’ve usually heard it used.
