Yea, I agree, I generally find great ones every year, but people have different experiences and expectations, not necessarily closed minds. The new Psychic Lemon ‎Frequency Rhythm Distortion Delay is a pretty great one in 2018 already, and we are less than three weeks into the new year. Just got the purple splatter vinyl ordered from their German label, Tonzonen Records (Dirk Raupach), should be fun, looking forward to playing that one a bunch this year.

    California. My favorite Bungle album.

Leonard Cohen “You Want It Darker” is the last great album I have heard.

I don't know them, but do you think is going to be a "truly great album", something you are going to listen after 10 years or more?
A lot of new new albums are good for some time, but hardly anyone comes close to KidA, OkC, Revolver etc

They Might Be Giants - I Like Fun

Official release date 19 January 2018 (today for most of you, yesterday for me) though I've been listening to it for a week and it's fantastic!

And as of this post, no one can argue that it's not the last great album released unless you give it a go and/or come up with a better album released today

Man Machine Poem is the thirteenth album by Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip and the last album to be released before the death of lead singer Gord Downie. It was released on June 17, 2016.

Fall Out Boy's MANIA album was released today and it's truly great. Not the greatest of all-time, but that wasn't the question.

I would say Ulver's The Assassination of Julius Caesar (2017) was definitely great.

I really like the album and the other Mr Bungle albums but you honestly can't say it's not deranged, though that's a large part of it's charm

It's not all deranged. Pink Cigarette, Sweet Charity, Retrovertigo and Vanity Fair are quite 'poppy' IMO.
