Elton John-Rock of the Westies. It had just come out and I must have heard classmates talk positively about Elton, although I don't think this one was too popular. The song Island Girl somewhat. Played the heck out of it.

Absolute classic. Everyone talks about Mellon Collie - but I rarely ever sit down to finish the album as I don’t have time.

I Wish I would remember mine. Sitting here thinking super hard. Maybe something by U2 as they’ve always been my favorite band. Also I lost all of my CDs from when I was little so I likely don’t have it anymore.

Me, too. Vinyl, still have that same copy. I was 9. Listened to it twice in it’s entirely nearly every single day of fourth grade, right after getting home from school.

1st Payment went to buy a Levi's Denim Jacket by Xmas 1990
2nd Payment bought a ticket for a concert in my city (1991 Soda Stereo - Argentina's Top Band)
3rd payment was Depeche Mode 101 - USA long box 2CD (still own it, stickered box too), second CD was Kiss - Hot In The Shade, later albums just can't remember, I could make a list but it would take forever to remember.

Previous LPs, Cassettes and cds were given by my parents and older sisters & brother as requested for xmas, b-days and the likes, probably like many of you.

It wasn't a first album. I split an order of one of those Columbia Record club bundles with my sister. The town I was living in didn't even have a record store, so you had to mail order if you wanted any music other than our local radio.

    I got:

    Boston-S/T
    Van Halen-S/T
    Van Halen II
    Foreigner-S/T
    Styx-Grand Illusion
Electric Light Orchestra-Out of the Blue

When I hit the age of 18, I owned a grand total of 12 records, consisting of my half-portion of 2 Columbia Records bundle orders. All my spare cash in those days was going towards science fiction and fantasy books, and I owned a huge pile of those.

I think that was mine too. My first 3 Beatles albums were the Red Album, the Blue Album, & Rock and Roll Music. I figured it was the cheapest way to get the most Beatles music. I played those albums to death while I slowly built a complete collection of their albums.

Beach Boys Little Deuce Coupe. The ‘32 Ford on the cover provided the perfect transition for my obsessions from cars to music. Still haven’t found a better one, 56 years later.

I was 9, it was my birthday, and it was 1979. My father took me to K-Mart and I had fresh birthday cash. I think it was $9.oo. Tan Casablanca label.
He tried to talk me out of it. He like Charley Pride and The Beatles and took a look at the cover and was not 100% enthusiastic about it. He told me it was a waste of money, not for the music's sake but as something a 9 year-old would enjoy. But he didn't stop me.
Glad, too, because my brother's copy was getting worn out. I'd been listening to it since I was about 4 years old.
Now I have a Bogart-label RL 1st pressing. It still has that new LP shine, and you have to squint to see any signs of being played. I listen to it once or twice a year, as KISS is a bit nostalgic now, rather than necessary listening. But this pressing is worth seeking if you can find a new-ish one.

So weird to think that the 1932’ on the cover is like having a 1990’ on the cover of a album released today.

The Cyrkle, mono copy of Neon, because the mono was $1 cheaper than the stereo. Probably bought with 10th birthday money, I also bought Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields the same day. I Wish You Could Be Here is still one of my favorite songs (as are Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields). And of course I still have it.
