    "I Me Mine"

I realize it wasn't all four of them but many Beatle songs don't have all four of them.

I realize they did additional work to other songs after "I Me Mine" but those were songs that were already recorded.

"I Me Mine" was the last song they (The Beatles and George Martin) went into the studio and started from scratch.

Real Love - all four Beatles and the label says "Beatles". Enough for me.

I understand where people are coming from with the other choices, but "Real Love" is technically the last song the Beatles released, so that has to be my choice.

"I Me Mine" is my favorite song of the choices in the poll, though...

As it serves my purposes (. :o ). I will note that 45% of the voters (as of now) agree with my humble opinion: I Me Mine.

I am content with the State of the Forum.

    I thought I Me Mine.
Was it not recorded in 1970?
    Prophetic no?

I Want You, yes...I was just about to post this. I think that’s right, if I remember Bob Spitz’s book correctly.

Yeah, but the question wasn't "What was the last song they recorded as a four piece all at the same time". It's just "What was the last Beatles song?".

By your reasoning, anything that all four didn't record together aren't "Beatles songs".

That would include "Yesterday", "Here Comes The Sun", "Back In The USSR", "Dear Prudence", "Within You Without You"...and many, many more.

Interesting comment; while I don't consider either Real Love or FAAB, "Beatle songs", I actually think I know what you mean.

Those first few months of 1970 must have been so sad for them as the realization began setting in.

“I Me Mine” for reasons stated a bunch of times on this thread already.

  16. I voted for "I Me Mine"... the dawn of 1970, full song launched by 3/4 Threetles & as has pointed out- lots of times all 4 weren't on every track before this...

    legit too...

"The End"- the final song on the last full, complete as they intended it, album (vs. stitched together from the pieces of an aborted project, with enough there to make it all work)

    ...and... kinda...

"Real Love"- like the "Let It Be" album, it's cobbled together, but this time posthumously... because this works so well ("Free As A Bird" is very good & "Real Love" that much better, in every way) to me, it does feel like The Beatles... but I accept it's like with an asterik-
not "The Beatles", but kinda more like "*The Beatles"... because it's a song made by all 4 of The Beatles, however odd the circumstances/process
...others would contend it's- John Lennon & The Threetles...

    ... farthest out...

"I'm The Greatest"- if 3/4 works for "I Me Mine" then this one could count too... it's just they were still a working band, working on finishing up a project then vs. 3/4 od the band reuniting for a Ringo session on a song John wrote, where George also ended up on guitar... and the different major player, with Klaus on bass, is another mark against...

Must have been an extremely early Spring that year, as it was recorded on January 3, 1970, by the Threetles. ;)

Didn’t GPR record I Me Mine back at EMI once they realized Michael Lindsay-Hogg would be including the Twickenham rehearsal footage filmed one year prior?

Allen Klein made that decision supposedly. But I presume the Threetles must have held a discussion about what they were going to do as far as recordings in January 1970. And they decided on I Me Mine and overdubs for the song Let It Be.
And, yes, I Me Mine was recorded back at EMI/Abbey Road with George Martin producing.

The last original era songs recorded with all 4 Beatles present:

I Want You (She’s So Heavy) and “The End”, August 1969

The last new song recorded by the original era Beatles : I Me Mine
    Recorded Jan 3rd, & April 1st 1970

Probably the last Beatle to record on an original era Beatles track:

Ringo overdubbing drums on “The Long and Winding Road.” April 1st, 1970

The last record recorded and released as “The Beatles ”

    “Real Love” Recorded February 1995

“Now and Then” recording started March 1995, unreleased

That is a great summary. But let's move on to a more serious question:

What Was The Last Wings Song?
