He said he wanted to do acoustic stuff like Johnny Cash. He was scheduled to go into the studio with Micheal Stipe from REM.

I think he'd have gone solo and maybe even gone mainstream.

Foo Fighters wouldn't have been quite as big.

The next Nirvana album would potentialy have a ton of great tracks on it. You Know Your Right was a great studio cut and if Kurt put acoustic songs like Do-Re-Mi on it I think it had the potential to be a real banger

If You Know Your Right was any indication, to me that is a perfect representation of the Nirvana sound. Light and shade, going off the In Utero vibe and expanding on it

Kurt Cobain would have formed a supergroup with Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, Keith Moon and John Lennon.

I'd like to think there'd have been even better songs than "You Know You're Right" on the next Nirvana album. "Do-Re-Mi" was a good one, in its acoustic form.

I think it would have really meant the next album to be more similar to Unplugged, more acoustic and laid back stuff plus collaboration with Michael Stipe. And I would have hoped it to happen that way..
I bet that the whole Unplugged-concert as it proved to be that great experience, it must have had some effect on Kurt and others and their next direction for the album..unfornately we will never really know what would have become of the next album.
Kurt would have had dealt with all his problems and get help for the depression, to cure his addiction and most likely he would have got divorced. Nirvana would have probably lasted atleast 1-2 albums, then Kurt could have done some solo-stuff and perhaps finding new inspiration for work.
Dave would have surely done the Foo Fighters at some point as he had material and started to do his own songs anyways, but maybe FF wouldn't have been so big. Maybe. Kurt and Nirvana changed the world but we could have gotten so much more from them.
Just thinking today on his birthday, can't really believe it's gone so many years without Kurt. I really miss Kurt and Nirvana as they were so important to me back then, opening my eyes and ears to alternative and indie bands.
This is just one of those really interesting cases, where you're really wondering what if something would have been prevented from happening? Also, like similar case with Joy Division. What if Ian Curtis had got to the plane with the other band-members for their first USA-tour? We will never know what would happened..

I imagine he'd have done something like Josh Homme did.
Arrange rotating band members around where ever his playing and writing took him.

Kurt was supposedly wanting to disband Nirvana at the time of his death so even had he lived I could've seen them going their own ways and Dave forming his own project.

I still remember being in total shock when I heard the news that Layne Staley died on April 5, 2002. Exactly eight years later to the day of Kurt's death (April 5, 1994). Makes one wonder.

The idea of Cobain doing something along the lines of "Unplugged" in the studio circa 1994/1995 seems plausible.
